LCTCS Board Appoints Quintin D. Taylor as Interim Chancellor of River Parishes Community College
BATON ROUGE, LA -  Today, the Louisiana Community and Technical College System (LCTCS) Board of Supervisors appointed Quintin D. Taylor as Interim Chancellor of River Parishes Community College (RPCC) during the May Board of Supervisors Executive Committee Meeting. Quintin currently serves as the Chief Public Affairs and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer for LCTCS. His appointment is effective June 1, 2022.
"I am humbled and honored by the Board of Supervisors and Dr. Sullivan's confidence in me to serve as Interim Chancellor of River Parishes Community College," said Taylor. While this is an interim role, I look forward to working strategically with the faculty and staff to move the college forward. Our focus will be on growing the college's enrollment, refining the college's business operations, supporting employee development, and providing legendary service to our students and industry partners."
Dr. Jim Carlson, current Interim Chancellor, has served in this role since the Fall of 2020. Dr. Carlson announced in April his intention to return home and resume his role as Vice Chancellor of Strategic Initiatives and External Affairs at Northshore Technical Community College.

"Since October of 2020, I've had the pleasure of leading River Parishes Community College as their Interim Chancellor", said Carlson. "I am grateful for the relationships that I have developed with the faculty, staff, students, and community members within the river parishes. The opportunity to lead RPCC will be forever a highlight of my career."
"On behalf of the Board, I want to extend our appreciation and gratitude to Dr. Carlson for his service and time at RPCC," said LCTCS President Monty Sullivan. "He provided strong leadership during a difficult time in the college's history. Likewise, we believe Quintin will do a great job of leading the college while we work to identify a permanent chancellor of RPCC. I have watched Quintin develop professionally in various roles since he arrived at the system office. I am confident he will continue the work of growing the college's enrollment and cultivating meaningful relationships with community partners and industry throughout the River Region."
As previously announced, the Board has reengaged in the search for the next chancellor of RPCC. The search will commence during Summer 2022 with interviews occurring in the Fall 2022 semester with a recommendation and decision to be made by the Board in December 2022.
