LCUL Partners with Leo Cybersecurity to Help Credit Unions Safeguard Members Information
We are pleased to announce a new partnership with LEO Cyber Security, a cyber advisory and operations firm.

LEO Cyber Security helps businesses architect, build, and operate cyber security programs.  LEO has a particular focus on the credit union industry as well as underserved and emerging growth markets (e.g. critical infrastructure, mid-market financials) with deep needs for cyber security operations and regulatory compliance expertise who more and more lack the dedicated security resources and specialization needed to navigate the rapidly growing regulatory environment as well as the ever changing security threats that today require constant focus.

"Partnering with LCUL allows us to bring our cyber security expertise to the credit union industry," said David Deering, Founder and CEO at LEO. "We're excited to provide LCUL members with the expert cyber security program advisory, tools, and talent to ensure the safety of their member's information."

LEO hires world-class cyber operators to help our customer's build effective and efficient cyber security programs. In addition to the cyber security pioneers LEO hires, most of LEO's Investors and Advisors have deep cyber security experience as well.

"It's critical that credit unions take a close look at their digital infrastructure if they haven't already. Considering the costs associated with a successful attack (lost productivity, system down time, restoration), credit unions must maintain a secure environment," commented Steven Liberto, LCUL EVP of Business Solutions. "We believe this partnership offers a solution that is needed by everyone, regardless of the asset size or field of membership."

LCUL's September 'Pre-Fab Marketing Toolkit' Focuses on #FinancialWellness
LCUL recently distributed September's 'Pre-Fab Marketing Toolkit', providing tips to share with your members and media outlets. September is self-improvement month - and many Louisianans could stand to improve their financial wellness. Share some tips with your members.

This resource provides timely, basic, and ready-to-go content to help increase member engagement via your communication channels (newsletters, websites, blogs, social media, etc). Distributed the last week of the month, each toolkit includes articles, social media posts, and graphics as well as a template to share with your local media.

Additionally, we pull media clippings of Louisiana credit unions in the news to help spark media outreach ideas. Collectively, there was an estimated $421,961 in earned media in the month!

To help maximize this resource or to start receiving the monthly toolkit, reach out to a member of our Communications Department.

Red River Mill Employees FCU Announces Name Change
Red River Mill Employees FCU has changed its name to Engage FCU.  The credit union sponsored a name change contest in search of the new name, which was announced during an event at their branch on June 30.

Engage FCU was established in 1975 to serve the employees of the Red River Paper Mill. In 2013, the credit union amended its charter to open membership and provide banking services to everyone who lives or works in Natchitoches, Sabine, Winn, Grant, and Red River parishes in North Central Louisiana. Engage FCU is certified by the U.S. Treasury as a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) to provide access to safe banking products and offer services for individuals and businesses who would otherwise not qualify for mainstream financial opportunities.

"We are very proud of our legacy with the Red River Paper Mill, and we're grateful to the community and our members for the years of trust and loyalty," says CEO, Kathy Deloney.  "The new name was selected because it reflects our dedication to financial inclusion and because it better represents the expanded geographic area we serve today. We remain committed to providing our members with highly competitive and convenient financial products and services.  This name change is a crucial part of that commitment moving forward."

Campus Federal Volunteers at LCPA's Financial Literacy Earn and Learn Weekend at Louisiana Children's Museum
Team members from Campus Federal assisted with the annual Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants (LCPA) for Financial Literacy event at the Louisiana Children's Museum in New Orleans on Saturday, August 18 and Sunday, August 19. The 'Earn and Learn Financial Literacy Weekend' is an event that allows children and their parents to learn about topics related to earning, spending and saving through hands-on activities.

Volunteers facilitated career stations throughout the museum at which children performed a "job" to earn money.  Campus Federal was on hand to help teach them responsible decision-making skills related to the money they earn. Parents were invited to the Parent's Resource station hosted by LCPA while the children participated in the activities. In an effort to open the financial literacy event to the underserved population in the community admission on Sunday was offered free of charge.
