Less Than 24 Hours until PIVOT 2020: Did You Get Your All Access?

Attendee information for LCUL's PIVOT 2020 was sent earlier this week with everything needed to make the most of your experience. If you did not receive a confirmation, please email support@lcul.com today. 

Some friendly reminders:   
  • AND THIS WORKS HOW EXACTLY? Once in the portal you will see a brief tutorial video to walk you through all aspects of the site so you don't miss a thing.
  • WHO'S WHO of PIVOT? Once you begin to navigate the site be sure to click the 'Account' tab and set up your profile. You can see who will be pivoting with us by visiting the 'Networking' tab.
  • MEET SOME NEW 'FRIENDS'. Explore the Exhibit Hall tab to see the complete scroll of our participating exhibitors. Please take time to visit with our vendors to thank them for helping make our virtual conference possible.
  • SOCIAL MEDIA SHOWDOWN. Share your excitement for PIVOT 2020 on social media by using the hashtag #PIVOT2020. Feel free to print these photo props to enhance your pictures! (If you want your post to also appear on our portal's social wall for all to see, you'll need to take one extra step and tag Louisiana Credit Union League in your post as well.)
  • SHOW ME THE MONEY. Your registration is your automatic entry into our cash prize drawings occurring sporadically throughout our two-day program. You must be present in the session to claim your prize. If you hear your name you must enter "Yay, I won!" or "I'm here" or similar sentiment of excitement to claim your prize in that session's chat area. If unclaimed, we will quickly pick another name until we have a winner.

Silent Auction Benefiting the Louisiana CU Foundation, Open to Anyone and Everyone

LCUL's 2020 Silent Auction and CULAC 50/50 raffle are now open for credit unions to start contributing. This year, you can make all your transactions and bidding through LCUL's GiveSmart website. Both the silent auction and the CULAC raffle/challenge will run through Friday, August 7 at 2:00 p.m.

Best part: you do not have to be registered for PIVOT 2020 to participate so get your money out!

During PIVOT 2020, we will be periodically updating our infamous CULAC Challenge board. Beat the clock and make sure you get your contributions in on time. Additionally, our silent auction has more than thirty items to bid on with all proceeds going to the Louisiana Credit Union Foundation.

OnPath FCU Announces Selection of New President/CEO
OnPath FCU is pleased to announce the selection of Jared Freeman as the credit union's next President and CEO.

"We are thrilled to welcome Jared to OnPath FCU as our next CEO. His many years of experience within the industry make him the best fit to lead our organization as we continue to grow," said Board Chairperson Martha Castillo.

Freeman has an impressive career within the financial services industry. He first joined the credit union movement in 2005 with Guardian Credit Union, where he served many roles, ultimately as Chief Operations Officer. From there, he went on lead ASE Credit Union as President and Chief Executive Officer before making his most recent move to Leaders Credit Union, where he held the role of Chief Experience Officer. Freeman holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Mobile, as well as a Certified Credit Union Executive designation from CUES CEO Institute.
NOFFCU's James Hunter Receives CUES Certified CU Manager Certification
New Orleans Firemen's FCU (NOFFCU) is proud to announce James Hunter has received the CUES Certified Credit Union Manager certification.

James serves as Director of Real Estate Lending for NOFFCU. Hunter was accepted to the CUES Emerge program in January, which combines online learning, peer collaboration, and competition. The CUES Certified Credit Union Manager certification is awarded to participants that complete online courses, Mastermind sessions, and their business case.

"It has been a wonderful process thus far, and I'm looking forward to applying this knowledge to serve our members," says Hunter.
EFCU Financial Foundation Awards Ten Scholarships
The EFCU Financial Foundation has selected the recipients of a 2020 EFCU Financial Foundation Scholarship. They include:
  • Alaina Guillory, West Feliciana High School; 
  • Kade Boeneke, Catholic High School; 
  • Andrew Gawarecki, Catholic High School; 
  • Abby Selser, Walker High School; 
  • Alyssa Abbott, Dutchtown High School; 
  • Lillian Chase, Doyle High School; and, 
  • Haleigh Bordelon, Teurlings Catholic High School.

In addition, the EFCU Financial Foundation also selected Ciera Augustus, Broadmoor High School; Jai'Ante Caldwell, Broadmoor High School; and, Gary Millet III, Ascension Catholic High School as recipients of a 2020 EFCU Financial Foundation Essay Scholarship. Nine of our recipients will be attending a Louisiana university or community college.

 
To be eligible for consideration, a student must be a graduating high school senior and an EFCU Financial member. Additional criteria include submitting an official high school transcript, ACT score, extracurricular involvement and an essay discussing how the credit union industry can remain relevant for current and future generations.
 

Campus Federal Announces New Vice President Human Resources Designation
Campus Federal announced the promotion of Kim Aucoin to the role of Vice President of Human Resources. Aucoin brings over 30 years of credit union experience at Campus Federal to her new role.

Aucoin began her career with Campus Federal in 1990 as a branch teller, transferring to Human Resources soon after where she progressed from Human Resources Assistant to most recently Assistant Vice President Human Resources. During her tenure at Campus Federal, she has gained extensive experience in talent acquisition, employee training, benefit planning and aligning staff with the driving principles of its corporate culture and mission of 'people helping people.'

"Kim has demonstrated an admirable work ethic," said President & CEO Jane Verret, "and will continue to grow and innovate in her VP role while keeping Campus Federal rooted in our communities and LSU."
Greater New Orleans FCU Introduces Virtual Appointments
Greater New Orleans FCU (GNO FCU) announced a change in the format of its in-person meetings, to now include virtual appointments.
As COVID-19 continues to impact communities and disrupt daily lives, GNO FCU embraces the challenge by offering alternative solutions to conduct banking business. In addition to lobby, drive-thru, telephone, internet, and app-based banking, our member can take advantage of the convenience of virtual appointments as well.

"We want to provide reassurance about our commitment to working hard so that the most essential financial resources are always available. We encourage our members to take advantage of the virtual appointment option, as the new format provides convenient accessibility to finances from the safety and comfort of home," said President and CEO Janet Sanders.
