2018 Convention Update: Action Packed Agenda Offers Invaluable Networking, Dynamic Education Sessions
Why should you attend LCUL's 2018 Annual Meeting & Convention? Aside from the dynamic education opportunities we're offering this year, attendees have the opportunity to gather with their peers in a number of different settings and gain invaluable insight from one another.

Some events such as the community service project and the silent auction offer the chance to give back, which is what we do best. Take a closer look at what's in this special CU Comic Book issue:

Rock n Bowl: ($75/person) Join us for a fundraiser benefiting the Louisiana CU Foundation that includes open bar, food, bowling, and a little rock n roll. Not a bowler? Not a problem! Come hangout and the start your convention experience off right. If you have already registered for convention and want to sign up for bowling, email convention@lcul.com and we'll take care of it.

Round Table Discussions: Some say the best way to learn is by simply listening to what your peers have to say. We couldn't agree more. Take the opportunity to meet with credit unions of your size to find out whats working and whats not. (a full report on what was discussed will be issued post-convention)

Friday Night Event presents a "Who's Your Superhero?":
Often imitated but never duplicated, our Friday night social event means one thing: anything goes. The event includes dinner, dancing, and open bar. This year, we encourage attendees to dress as their all time favorite Superhero. Remember, superheroes aren't always a Marvel or DC character....a superhero can be anyone! As always, prizes will be awarded to the best dressed.

Annual Golf Tournament: Tee high and let it fly during our 2018 golf tournament at Timberlane Country Club, which offers more than just a morning on the greens. We incorporate networking, food, fun, and a little bit of sun to ensure your experience is both enjoyable and beneficial. Don't forget to bring your mulligan money!

YPN Silent Auction: Bid against your peers for a good cause. Hot items will be up for grabs while supporting YPN scholarships and the Louisiana CU Foundation. The auction will take place during exhibit hours with the final live bidding wars coming to an end on Friday. (want to donate a prize? e-mail us!)

Participate in LCUL's Community Service Project During Convention
From superheroes to princesses, if you've been around kids between the ages of 1 and 10, you know they are serious about their band aid selection. That's why Children's Hospital is starting a band aid donation drive.

Children's Hospital uses thousands upon thousands of band aids each year so we encourage you to donate a few boxes at the Children's Miracle Network booth in the exhibitor hall during our convention. Giving back is what we do and there's no better time than our statewide convention when we all come together.

Thanks to the generosity of our credit unions, LCUL delivered 235 boxes of bandaids to the hospital last year.  Hospital volunteers made bandaid binders and delivered them to the nurses' stations on each floor. Let's make the initiative an even more success in 2018.

What does this mean for Louisiana credit unions? In the latest issue of LCUL's Pelican Politics, we collaborated with strategic partner Kudulis, Reisinger, and Price LLC (KRP) to provide a summary of those bills and the impact they will have on Louisiana credit unions.

These topics and more will be covered at LCUL's upcoming New Laws & Compliance Conference set for September 18-19 at L'Abuerge Baton Rouge.
