#FreetheData Bill Passes PA Senate

On June 12, 2024 legislation passed the PA Senate to provide workforce boards and stakeholders with enhanced access to timely data from the Commonwealth. This #freethedata movement, spearheaded by the PA Workforce Development Association, will help the Lancaster Board provide better services to job seekers, workers, and businesses with a data based approach more accurately.

LCWDB Partners Recognized for Success

A New Pathway

If you have stopped by the Lancaster Public Library lately, or one of the 27 public or private high schools, community benefit organizations, or the PA CareerLink® of Lancaster County, you may have seen one of our Educational Kiosks. Situated throughout the county, these educational kiosks provide students and job seekers with easy, interactive access to information about career pathways, training programs, and career opportunities within the county with local businesses. Not only can they use the kiosks on site, QR codes allow for continued access on the go. In partnership with the Lancaster Chamber, four ribbon cutting ceremonies were held to celebrate this initiative. With new information uploaded regularly, the kiosk initiative has allowed students and job seekers alike to explore opportunities they may not have known existed. In the first few months of the initiative, Live Entertainment careers were the most searched category by kiosk users!
