Election 2026:

LDA Survey

Candidate Responses

As part of the Living Desert Alliance’s commitment to keeping our members informed, our Board of Directors developed a five‑part candidate questionnaire focusing on important issues facing our state and local governments.

The survey asked candidates to address five topics central to the future of our region: water management, land‑use planning, data‑center impacts, ICE detention proposals, and education and workforce development. Each candidate was invited to share their views in writing.

The questionnaire was sent to 54 candidates running in this year's election for statewide, federal, and legislative offices directly affecting Pima County.

These offices include:

  • Governor
  • Attorney General
  • Secretary of State
  • State Treasurer
  • Superintendent of Public Instruction
  • State Mine Inspector
  • Corporation Commissioner
  • State Senators
  • State Representatives (Legislative Districts)
  • U.S. Congress

Of the 54 candidates contacted — 26 Republicans and 30 Democrats — we received 11 total responses. This includes 10 from Democratic candidates and 1 from a Republican candidate. These numbers are shared solely for transparency and context.

All responses in the BLUE BOX BELOW are presented exactly as submitted — unedited, and in a strictly neutral, nonpartisan format. Our goal is to give our members clear access to candidate perspectives in their own words.

We extend our sincere thanks to all candidates who responded. Their participation reflects a meaningful commitment to the people of Arizona and to open, transparent dialogue with the communities they seek to serve.
