We hope everyone had a wonderful break. Hopefully it was a good mix of fun and family, and also rest and relaxation!


We are excited to kick off 2026 with you all back in the dance studio! It's an exciting few months ahead of us...SO much to look forward to:


  • Student Choreography
  • Recital Costume Distribution
  • Team Showcase
  • Start learning Recital Dance Choreography
  • Summer registration (info coming in March, registration in April!)
  • and of course...RECITAL!


And LOTS of fun in between! So be sure stay in the loop by reading these emails and checking out the recital website.


Don't forget to go to the Culver's on GRANDVIEW TONIGHT between 4-7pm for our monthly Culver's night for Darby's Dancers!!


We hope everyone is having a great first week back into routine and that it's going somewhat smoothly ;)

If your dancer does NOT have the correct dance shoes that they will need for recital, we suggest you get them now to make sure they have time to break them in and get used to dancing in them!

Last month I had the honor of being interviewed by an online magazine that focuses on the stories of artists, creatives and entrepreneurs.


It's always fun to be able to share my story and the story of Liberty Dance Center.

LOOKING AHEAD:


CULVER'S NIGHT (TONIGHT, WED. 1/7/26, 4:00-7:00PM)

  • It's that time again...stop by the Culver's on GRANDVIEW and get yourself some dinner and dessert!
  • 10% goes towards our special needs non profit, Darby's Dancers.
  • THANK YOU Culver's AND everyone that goes!


STUDENT CHOREOGRAPHY (1/19-1/31)

  • One of our favorite times of year. The dancers are often asking to do certain moves or creating their own dances during water breaks and out in the lobby/locker rooms.
  • Now they get to work together in small groups on their own to create their own special dance.
  • Dancers age 2-3 & 4-5 will do this too, but with the guidance of their teachers! So fun to see what their favorite moves are :)
  • The teachers will be there to guide and help if needed, but ultimately the dancers are on their own for this project.
  • WHY do we do this? Because it's fun AND more importantly, they learn...
  • to work as a team
  • to voice their ideas and opinions with their peers
  • to explore their creativity
  • to test their knowledge on what they've learned so far
  • to keep things exciting during these cold, winter months

REMINDERS:

INCLEMENT WEATHER

Tis the season!!! Some reminders about our inclement weather policy.


  • We will aim to make the call by NOON for evening classes.
  • We do not necessarily follow schools, as sometimes it's worse in the morning, sometimes worse in the evening.
  • If we do close, we will announce via: Email, Facebook & Instagram and TMJ4.
  • If we are open, but you don't feel safe driving...please stay home!
  • Safety is our number one concern for our dancers/families, staff and teenage drivers.
  • If we cancel or you choose to not attend, simply make up your missed class(es) at your convenience!

RECITAL!!!

The board is UP and the recital website is LIVE!

If you've been here before, you know the deal :)


If you are new to us...we can't wait for your to experience the magic that is recital! You may think it's just one weekend in the spring, but there are quite a few elements and special moments throughout the year that make up this special core memory.


BOARD IS UP: Be sure to check out the poster on the slat wall in the lobby (look for the balloon display and huddle of people!).


RECITAL WEBSITE IS LIVE: We have a dedicated recital website that will house all of the information you will need. We spread it out over the course of the next 6 7 months, so not all is released yet, but the photos of the costumes and songs names are!

COSTUMES:They have started to arrive!! It takes a bit of time to get them in, organized and ready to hand out. But we will be working on that and handout begins in February!
