** THIS WEEK's NATURE CHALLENGE: **
Spend some time outside and take a photo of your favorite tree! This can be a tree in your backyard, park, etc.
Take a photo of the tree and post it on our ELK Facebook Page.

or text: 720.251.0947. All posts and submitted photos will be entered into a weekly drawing for a $10 gift card!

or other public space.It is still important to get outdoor during this uncertain time, but please ensure you're staying at least six feet away from others. Enjoy!

Looking for ages 8-12 to create a story. Will have 5-8 students participate in creating a story. You don't have to be a storyteller, just try it out!
An option will be given to do individual stories or work as a group. Ronika will be Hosting via Zoom meetings once a week. In those meetings I will check in, we will help guide the story line and edit the story. This is for us to have a creative outlet.
So feel free to bring your ideas and I'll bring mine! The first meeting we will go over what does it mean and look like to tell a story? Contact Ronika at:

The Black Homeschooling Sustainability Initiative is offering a virtual summer internship for high school students who live or go to school in Denver's Far Northeast neighborhoods to lead a research project on home-based education in the era of COVID-19.
Internship is 6 weeks, June 27th-August 1st, ONLY 1-3 hours per week. Interns EARN A STIPEND

THERE WILL BE A LIMITED NUMBER OF GENTLY USED BIKES AVAILABLE BY APPT ONLY. THE DATE, TIME AND PHONE NUMBER ARE ON THE FLYER ATTACHED TO SCHEDULE APPOINTMENTS.
EACH FAMILY WILL RECEIVE A CENSUS BAG WITH WATER AND SNACKS, IF YOU WOULD LIKE YOUR RESOURCE INFORMATION ADDED TO THE CENSUS BAG PLEASE MAKE SURE I RECEIVE YOUR RESOURCES YOU WISH TO BE DISTRIBUTED BY JUNE 12TH 2020.

Viaje de Camping Virtual a la Familia
Join us for a VIRTUAL camping trip at the Aurora Reservoir! Just like any camping trip, this virtual experience will have a campfire, games and the ELK family! We will spend Friday night around the virtual campfire and share stories and play classic ELK campfire games. Saturday morning, we will have a special guest from Nature's Educator's and learn all about the birds of prey that live in Denver and take a short (virtual) hike around the Aurora Reservoir looking for birds and other wildlife.
¡Únase a nosotros para un viaje de campamento VIRTUAL en Aurora Reservoir! ¡Al igual que cualquier viaje de campamento, esta experiencia virtual tendrá una fogata, juegos y la familia ELK! Join the ELK Staff Team on ZOOM every other Wednesday for our "ELK Documentary Wednesday" as we discuss a weekly nature documentary! After the viewing of each film we will dive a little deeper and discuss that week's documentary topic and supply youth and families with additional resources to further learning!
