Sia-Linda Graduates Magna Cum Laude!
Sia-Linda, a 2021 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, literally grew up at LEAP -- first while her mother took computer courses in the old Salem CyberSpace and then by participating in middle and high school programs at LEAP as well as working and volunteering here.
Since graduating from LEAP and Salem Academy Charter School, just look at her accomplishments:
Graduated magna cum laude from Penn, majoring in communication and minoring in psychology and Hispanic studies.
Founded the popular weekly podcast at Penn, The Trillest, which attracted not only the attention of devoted listeners but also the attention of The Economist, which became a podcast sponsor.
Headed to Google in the Bay area to become an Associate Product Marketing Manager
Says Sia-Linda about her LEAP experience: “Thank you to LEAP, Miss Linda, and all of its staff and donors who helped support me along this academic journey and provided me with opportunities to explore my interests and use my strengths!”
Congratulations to Sia-Linda and all of LEAP’s class of 2021 college graduates!

LEAP Student’s Wise Advice about the High Cost of College
Claudia participates in LEAP’s College Success Program (CPS), and plans to graduate in 2022 from Salem State University with a major in nursing and minors in psychology and biology. In a recent conversation that appears on the LEAP blog, Claudia (a recipient of a Blackheart Scholarship) took time off from her busy schedule to talk about her participation in the College Success Program and applying to college. She offers wise advice about seeking scholarships to help pay for the high cost of higher education.
Says Claudia: “Apply for everything. It takes time and effort and it takes research but it’s all worth it in the end. I feel so grateful and I feel really proud of myself for putting in that time and effort even when I wanted to give up… don’t give up. You just have to have that motivation and make the effort. The time that you put into it will all come back to you.” Read more of the interview with Claudia here…and, while you are there, check out other interviews with LEAP students..
The College Success Program provides students with high-quality, educational, and advisory services for career exploration, college preparation, admission, and college success.
