Greetings fellow Captains!


Welcome to our first edition of "The Hook," a newsletter created for Charter Captains.


Our mission for "The Hook" is to provide timely and useful information designed to help you understand the Lake, the fishing, and to provide answers to questions you may get from your customers.


As guardians, custodians, and promoters of Lake Erie, I know you take your positions seriously. So it is our job here at "The Hook" to dig deep for the best data and knowledge available.


This will be a quarterly publication for now, with issues coming out in:

"Just the Facts" Captains


Customers often ask about the record walleye caught on Lake Erie in Ohio.... 


The record walleye in Ohio was taken from Lake Erie in 1999.


It weighed 16.19 lbs., and measured 33" long.


This record still stands today 24 years later.


The current population of walleye should give us a new record some day, maybe this year, only time will tell!
