Ahoy Captains!
Wow... Here we are in August!! Where did the summer go?
Hopefully everyone has had a great season so far. There is still lots of fishing season left. However, we have to start thinking about what our boats need for their winter naps. Ugh!
Thank you to the 19 Captains and first mates that volunteered their boats and expertise for the Governor's FIsh Ohio. Although Mother Nature threw a temper tantrum and we had to call everyone off the water early. Everyone still had a good time and there were fish caught. How many do you ask? 132 walleye, 7 perch, and a combination of 41 other fish for a total of 180 fish.
This event is always about more than just fishing. It's a chance to recognize all that the governor's office and the ODNR have done to help protect Lake Erie and the quality of life of those who utilize our great lake for business and pleasure.
Thanks to everyone that volunteered and helped make this a great event.
Save the date … Captains Day at Stone Lab, Tuesday, August 27, 2024.. See the article from Tory Gabriel; to learn more about this excellent learning opportunity. If you are interested in attending, contact me to reserve your seat. We'll have space for 30.
As for me ... I'm at the James Center for most of this month with my T-cell transplant and follow ups. Thanks in advance for keeping all those positive thoughts and prayers coming. I will beat this!
Until then,
Tight lines and signing off,
Respectfully,
Captain Peg
