Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

I am filled with gratitude for the celebration of our patron's feast day, the Conversion of Paul last weekend. We began with Sandwich Builders and St. Robert's Center, our regular service projects and which reflect our parish. On Saturday evening, the Conversion of Saul Concert directed by Dr. Joung-A (Monica) Yum, our Director of Music and Schola and Caritas Choir members who were joined by the Chapman University Choir was a poignant moment of music and prayer. We welcomed the Archbishop on Sunday, while enjoying delicious Pancakes offered by our School Fathers' Club. Thank you to all who made our celebration a prayer of praise and gratitude to God for the blessings of our parish and school community.

Our feast leads us to the wider church in LA with the kickoff of the Together in Mission 2026 annual appeal next weekend, when I will ask you to generously support the parishes and schools of our Archdiocese. Please begin discerning about your level of support in the appeal.

Archbishop Gomez has chosen the theme of

THIS IS THE HOUR OF LOVE.

It is such a great reminder that the Lord is working through each of us, and the time is now for us to respond.

Approximately one in every five parishes in the archdiocese relies on financial assistance from the appeal. And approximately one in every four Catholic schools in the Archdiocese depends on your support.  Your continued generosity to Together in Mission and your faith in our ministries are proof that by offering the Lord what we can, He will provide what we need.

The way the Lord gave of Himself for us is a great reminder that we are united as one Church, that when we come together and support our parishes and schools, we can do so much good.

The Appeal delivers ministries to those seeking to expand their faith and education, as well as provides essential support throughout our Archdiocese.

I want you to know the real difference of what Together in Mission is doing and the impact it’s making in the lives of others. That is why I endorse the Appeal and why I hope you will as well.

You may have received a letter from Archbishop Gomez about Together in Mission, and I ask you to read through it closely and reflect on how we can help him fulfill his mission and, together, put our faith and love into action.

Peace and blessings,

Father Gil
