Happy New Year! 2018 has gotten off to a great start as the Saints defeated the Panthers and advanced to play the Minnesota Vikings this weekend. I certainly look forward to cheering for the Saints in the Super Bowl once again!
Our last luncheon of 2017 was on December at Boudreaux’s Catering and featured Dr. Eric Kalivoda, Deputy Secretary for LADOTD. In his presentation, Dr. Kalivoda expanded on the declining state of the infrastructure of our State, LADOTD’s financial outlook and the new project development strategy based on five emphasis areas: pavement preservation, bridge rehabilitation/replacement, highway safety, traffic engineering/traffic analysis, tolling via PPP for capacity and mega preservation projects.

at Juban’s. Fred Raiford, Director of Transportation and Drainage for EBR will be the speaker providing an outlook on the Department of Public Works for the City/Parish.
Also in January, we will also be holding the 22nd Annual Joint Society Engineering Conference (JESC) at the Hilton, Lafayette in January 31
