Dear Lovejoy Families,

Welcome Back!  We have had an amazing week back. I love seeing all of these beautiful faces every day. Next week, we will have class pictures, and you will have a new option to choose this year.  You can choose to have just a class picture like typically have received or a "Memory Mate" which is your child's class picture and their individual picture. Here is an example, but our "Memory Mate" will be customized to Lovejoy Elementary.  Since this is our first year with this company, we do not have an example to share with you.

The district is excited to announce the 3rd Annual STEM Festival to be held on February 29th from 10:00-3:00 at Lovejoy High School. We hope you will mark this date on your calendar and make plans to attend this STEMtastic event with your family. The STEM Festival also offers extra opportunities, like the CANgineering Competition and T-Shirt Design Contest, in which students and families can participate. All information about the STEM Festival is linked below.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.

All My Best,
Wendy Craft

NEW! PTA Lifetime Award
We will be recognizing two special individuals who have given outstanding service to our children this year. The Parent/Teacher Recognition is a high honor bestowed upon someone by the Lovejoy PTA. The only requirement for receiving this honor is that the recipient has promoted students' wellbeing and demonstrated care for children. A nominee for the Parent/Teacher Recognition may be a parent, volunteer, teacher, administrator, or a community leader. The recipient is not required to be a PTA member. If you would like to nominate someone for this award, please fill out the form below and return it to the school office. The Parent/Teacher Recognition Committee will carefully consider each candidate. The two award recipients for this year will receive their awards at the Parent/Teacher Recognition Banquet in March. Please email your candidates as well as send a summary of WHY they should be chosen to mjciatto@hotmail.com by Friday, January 17th.

  NEW! Box Tops
Congratulations to our entire school for earning $530.20 in Box Tops!  Because of your hard work, we will be having a PJ Day on Friday, January 24th.  Wear your pajamas to school that day for a fun day! Let's continue to clip and SCAN your receipts for Box Tops! Reminder - Box Tops have gone digital, but there are still a few physical box tops to be collected.  If you see a "SCAN YOUR RECEIPT", simply download the Box Tops app and take a picture of your receipt. There is no need to clip these. If you see an expiration date on the Box Top, those can be clipped and turned in. For more information of the changes, please visit  www.boxtops4education.com .
