Dear Lovejoy Families,
We have had a very busy and awesome week at LES! Last Friday, our fourth graders traveled to Austin. We had a fantastic trip, and we learned many interesting things about the state of Texas!
Lovejoy Elementary fourth graders travel to Waco and Austin on an Education in Action Discover Texas Field Trip.
Then, on Saturday, was our annual STEM festival for the district, and our 2nd graders one Best Engineering for their "cangineering" creation of the Minecraft tree. This week, our fourth graders participated in a great learning experience about the organization, management, finance, and teamwork while also fulfilling the graduate profile pillar, service to others, by raising money for SPCA.
Tonight, we hope you will be able to join us for OPEN HOUSE from 6:00 - 7:15 where our Kindergarteners will also be fulfilling the graduate profile pillar, service to others, by giving their collection of supplies to the Lucas Fire Department. The fire trucks will be outside our building for students to see the fire truck and thank the firefighters for their service to our community. For this service project, our Kindergarteners made all of the signs advertising, organizing, and learned the "why" behind the graduate profile pillar of service to others.
I hope that all of you have a happy and safe Spring Break creating lifelong memories with your family. I look forward to seeing everyone on Monday, March 16, 2020.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.
All My Best,
My mission is to be a servant leader who works with students, parents, and staff to build a community that fosters relationships and learning where everyone THRIVES. Each day, I strive to make the choice to be great versus comfortable, because you can't be both!

NEW! March Student Nutrition Newsletter
for the March Student Nutrition Newsletter.
The elementary campouts are an opportunity for parents, students, teachers, and staff to come together with the community for a night of fun, fellowship, and service. Each elementary campus hosts its own event that provides a night of activities for the whole family and culminates with an overnight campout under the stars. In addition to building community, this event also serves as a primary fundraiser for each campus. Funds raised during the campout event ensure LISD can continue to provide our students with premier educational programs. This event truly is a great example of One Heart. One Lovejoy.
