Happy Thursday! I do not know about all of you, but I am tired of the rain. Hopefully, we will have some nicer weather next week. I hope all of you will be able to join us tonight for our Family Fall Festival. This fantastic event is provided to us by our PTA. You won't want to miss the famous cake walk, the magic show, the baskets in the auction, and various other games. We want to thank our PTA especially the chairs, Natalie Seely, Jennifer Bibles, Amber Rice, and all of their committee members and volunteers for all of their hard work, coordination, and planning that went into making tonight an event for everyone to enjoy. If you have not purchased your family's bracelet, you can still attend by paying $30 at the door. This fee will pay for your entire family to attend.
Save the Date! Please reserve Friday, April 12, 2019 for our campout. This night is a great community event for our entire school. This will be the ONLY fundraiser that our school will do this year. Please click here to see some highlights from last year.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.

Drug Awareness Parent Presentation - Thursday, October 25
Our Unexpected Journey - Helping Parents Be Prepared
Susan Hoemke will be sharing her son Hayden's story and their dark journey through his downward spiral into drug use, addiction and legal issues. Their seemingly perfect family life came to an abrupt end when they found themselves uneducated about - and unprepared for - managing these issues. They lost their sweet, beloved son Hayden in 2014 just before his 23rd birthday. The Hoemke's experience was tragic, and one they wish no parent would have to experience. Sadly, many will and are today.
Mrs. Hoemke will bring some light to this darkness by sharing her experience in hopes of providing some information about how drug abuse can start, what to watch for, and tools to handle these situations, if they do occur. All parents in the district are invited to attend the presentation at Willow Springs Middle School in the Band Hall on Thursday, October 25 at 9:00 AM. You may

"Hello! I would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who bought a ribbon or two at Leopard Friday and to those who donated online for the Autism Walk this past weekend. We had a great turnout and the weather was perfect during the walk. We finished just in time before the rain started to come down on us. Not only did I meet my goal of raising $500 toward the walk, the donation total was over $700. If you would still like to donate, the deadline is October 29. The combined donations from the ribbons sale and the walk was over $850. We had a fun time walking for such a great cause. Thank you everyone for your love and support of Autism Awareness!

Lovejoy Senior Requests Assistance with Senior Project
A message from Lovejoy Senior, Alexandra Brungardt:
"As an incoming senior, I have selected a project that is close to my heart. There is a "Toy Closet" at the Cancer Hospital from which patients can choose an item to help during their stay. I want to stock the Closet with as many toys as possible. In order to purchase toys for the closet, donation bins will be placed at each of the schools and the red building. These bins will be collecting gently used Lovejoy Spirit Wear. Once collected, the spirit wear will be sold and the money used to buy Toys for the Closet. The toys will be donated in memory of Walker Jack Rainey. I can be reached at email@example.com with any comments or questions. Thank you for your generosity."
"Nurturing the hearts and minds of students with knowledge, skills and character."
