Dear Lovejoy Families,

I hope all of you had a fantastic break. Our family enjoyed spending time together, and of course, we watched a lot of football and basketball. Whether face to face or virtual, all of our students and staff have come back strong and eager to work this week. I am incredibly proud of all of them.

Please note that we have moved the deadline for our virtual talent show until Friday, January 15th. Some of you may be wondering why ... We noticed that the majority of our students did not know about our virtual talent show, and we wanted to make sure that all of our students who wanted to participate in the talent show had the opportunity to participate in the talent show. You can find more details below.

Don't forget, the deadline to choose your child's learning environment for the third nine weeks closes at 5pm on Monday, December 7th!

LES Information
3rd 9 Weeks - Learning Environment Selection Window: November 20th - December 7th
If parents would like to make any learning environment changes for the 3rd-nine weeks, the learning environment change window is open until Monday, December 7th at 5pm. You will only need to make a selection in PowerSchool if you wish to make changes.

Picture Retakes
Mark your calendar for Picture Retakes on Friday, December 11th!


On Campus Learners - 8:00 - 9:00am
Please let your teacher/office know if you would like to retake pictures. All students who were absent on the original picture day will have their picture taken on December 11th.

Virtual Learners - 9:15 - 10:15am
Please click the Sign Up Genius link below to sign up to retake/makeup your child's picture. You may come any time between 9:15 - 10:15am to the outside Gathering Spot door.
Please note: Your child's picture will not be in the 2020-2021 LES Yearbook if you do not have his/her picture taken. We encourage you to have their picture taken even if you do not plan on ordering.

Label Masks With Student's Name
Please label your child's mask(s) with his/her name. For sanitary reasons, we will throw away any lost mask that cannot be returned directly to it's owner.
Holly Jolly Virtual 5K & Fun Run
Register for the 2020 Holly Jolly 5K or Fun Run. Runners will have the option to complete the race anytime between now and December 5th. To register, please visit LifeinAllen.org/HollyJollyRace. Make sure you select Lovejoy Elementary School when registering so that our PE program gets credit for your registration.
Lovejoy's Got "Virtual" Talent: Deadline Extended
Lovejoy Elementary students are invited to participate in our first “Virtual Talent Show"! We know our students are talented, and this is a great way to get them on the virtual stage.

 Video submissions will be accepted until Friday, January 15th and the talent show will be presented on Friday, February 11th.

*Solo acts are encouraged. Group acts may only include LES students living in the same household.
*Videos will be submitted through a Google Form and must be 1 1/2 minutes or less.

The purpose of Lovejoy Elementary PTO is to connect with the LES community, enrich the experiences for all LES students, and advocate for Lovejoy Elementary.Your membership and donations benefit the students and staff at Lovejoy Elementary.
Car Line Silent Auction for the 3rd Nine Weeks
Be on the lookout next week for the link so you can have your designated spot each day in car line! This benefits the PTO and makes your afternoons stress free. The auction will be open from December 7th - December 11th.

Athletic Tickets
There has been some confusion in regards to ticket sales, as in the past all students and staff have been allowed in free to all athletic contests (with school ID).  Due to UIL covid-19 attendance capacity limitation regulations we are forced to charge for entrance to all athletic contests for all staff and students. The tickets sales assist the athletic department in keeping with the capacity limitations required of us. If you have questions, please contact the Lovejoy Athletic Office.
