February 25, 2021
Dear Lovejoy Families,

I hope that your family has enjoyed coming back to school this week. I am incredibly proud of our students, teachers, and staff for hitting the ground running on Monday and not missing a beat. We have had a great week of learning, and we are looking forward to wearing our PJs tomorrow. Next week, we will have our Book Fair and Leopard Live where we will celebrate our Leopard Leaders and students for caring and fairness.

The cafeteria will have a change in the menu next week. Please also note that chocolate milk is also delayed getting here, but should be here sometime later next week.
Please help us by placing an extra mask to school in your child's backpack. We have noticed that many students are forgetting their masks, and we definitely do not mind giving them a paper mask, but they do not like them as well as the ones from home. Thank you in advance for helping us with this!
.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel to contact me at any time.

All My Best,
Wendy Craft

Spring Book Fair: March 1st - 5th
The Spring Book Fair is here! Students will be able to shop the fair in person each day next week. They will not be able to browse and touch all of the books as they usually would. Instead, students will tell the staff which books they would like to purchase and the books will be pulled for them. The fair will be open from 3-5 pm on Tuesday and Thursday for virtual students to come and shop.  This is a cashless fair. Parents, you will need to set your students up with an eWallet account so that when they come to shop, funds will be available for them. It is quick and easy to do. Another way to purchase books is to simply order from the Scholastic website and your books will be shipped directly to your home. Happy shopping and thank you for supporting the LES Library!
A Note From Nurse Debbie
We are definitely seeing the effects of allergy season already from coughs to congestion, sore throats, and headaches. I just wanted to send a quick reminder that when we assess a child for possible COVID symptoms, these symptoms are included on our list to be assessed by a physician if two or more symptoms are present. I know that this can be very frustrating knowing that your child suffers from seasonal allergies. The best plan of action would be to be proactive and treat allergy symptoms with medications that allow our kiddos to have a healthy productive day. I can be reached at 469.742.8132 or Debbie_nash@lovejoyisd.net if you have any questions. Stay well and stay safe!
Extra Mask in Backpack
Just a reminder to put an extra mask in your child's backpack each day. Students have accidents, drop them, throw them away, etc. and often times need a 2nd mask during the day. Thank you for your help with this!

Athletic Tickets
There has been some confusion in regards to ticket sales, as in the past all students and staff have been allowed in free to all athletic contests (with school ID).  Due to UIL covid-19 attendance capacity limitation regulations we are forced to charge for entrance to all athletic contests for all staff and students. The tickets sales assist the athletic department in keeping with the capacity limitations required of us. If you have questions, please contact the Lovejoy Athletic Office.
