Dear Lovejoy Families,

We hope that everyone is having a great week. As a reminder, if anyone in your household is awaiting a COVID test result, please keep your child home until you receive those results. Thank you in advance for helping us keep all of our Leopards healthy and safe.

As you are aware, this month is school board appreciation month, and we are honoring Anne Smith. We appreciate her support and the endless hours that she spends serving our district. Thank you, Mrs. Smith! We are excited that she will be visiting us next week on campus to teach us about serving and what it means to be on the school board.

Let’s learn about Mrs. Smith and her family!
Mrs. Smith has been married to her husband, Ryan, for twenty years. They met and fell in love at Texas Tech. Her son, Aidan, is a sophomore at LHS and plays baseball and golf. Her daughter, Madeline, is a freshman at LHS and plays tennis and runs track. A fun fact is that her children both attended Lovejoy Elementary. They have two precious dogs, Molly Mae and Luka. The Smiths have lived in Lovejoy for nine and a half years, and you will often see them out and about at various Lovejoy ISD events.
What was Mrs. Smith’s favorite subject in school and why?
Mrs. Smith’s favorite subject was English. She loves writing. Her second grade teacher made a huge impression on her and sparked her interest in writing.

Why did Mrs. Smith want to serve on the Board of Lovejoy ISD?
After serving in focused volunteer roles across the district, Mrs. Smith decided that she wanted to give back at a higher level and support our entire district.

What does Mrs. Smith love most about being a Leopard?
Mrs.Smith loves this community because they are passionate about everything that they do. She shared that she believes that we have a very special community in Lovejoy ISD, and she feels grateful to be part of it.

What is a fun fact about Mrs. Smith?
She LOVES shoes! This year, she is serving as the president of the National Charity League Chapter in Allen.

What is Mrs.Smith’s favorite hobby?
You can find Mrs. Smith playing tennis, spending time with her family, or traveling. She is also a big sports fan.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel to contact me at any time.

Athletic Tickets
There has been some confusion in regards to ticket sales, as in the past all students and staff have been allowed in free to all athletic contests (with school ID).  Due to UIL covid-19 attendance capacity limitation regulations we are forced to charge for entrance to all athletic contests for all staff and students. The tickets sales assist the athletic department in keeping with the capacity limitations required of us. If you have questions, please contact the Lovejoy Athletic Office.
