Hard Hat Theme of the Month
This month our Hard Hat theme is EFFORT:

A vigorous or determined attempt; hard physical or mental work. Since effort is similar to working hard, we encourage you to discuss effort in relation to the energy and determination children put toward being a good teammate. When we make effort in developing teammate skills a focus, it gives every child, especially those who aren’t as naturally gifted or academically successful an opportunity to shine and be leaders. When we focus on effort of this sort, we communicate the importance of being a good teammate and we inspire every student to work toward that goal.
Announcements
5 quick things you should know:

  1. We are IN THIS TOGETHER LES!
  2. Please ensure your Final Forms are complete and updated. Click Here.
  3. When calling your student out absent for the day please leave a reason WHY on our attendance hotline. When no reason is given we will mark them as unexcused and use COVID guidelines once they return.
  4. Thank you for helping with our new Pick Up routines. We have ordered and will be sending home car tags to hang on your mirrors. These will help us identify cars with students. We do not allow parents to walk up to the side doors and grab students. Please go through the carline to pick up after school. While it may not seems as fast as last year we are actually getting all students out of the building and in their cars about 5-10 minutes faster than we did last year.
  5. Parent Teacher Conferences are Sept. 24 and Sept. 29. Teachers will be reaching out to their parents to schedule conferences. Teachers will offer both virtual and face to face options to meet the needs of our families and maintain our Covid safety and health regulations. If you come to campus understand all visitors must abide by our guidelines of wearing a mask and practice social distancing.

LONDON CITY SCHOOLS - MEAL PROGRAM UPDATE
FOOD SERVICE
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 15, 2020

As a result of the extended COVID pandemic, the USDA has now granted an extension of summer meal programs for students. All meals (breakfast & lunch) will be FREE to students, whether in school or learning remotely. This program is in effect until December 31, 2020, or until federal program funds are depleted. LCS encourages families to continue to complete the free/reduced meal application, as regular school breakfast and lunch prices will resume in January 2021.

Also, we will offer breakfast and lunch for those who will be at home 3 days a week, as well as those who have chosen online learning 5 days a week. The meal pickup is scheduled for Wednesdays from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at the high school cafeteria back door. YOU MUST SIGN UP PRIOR TO PICK UP by contacting Teresa Murry at 740-852-5700, ext. 3025 or teresa.murry@london.k12.oh.us. If Wednesday pick up time is a hardship, another time arrangement may be possible.

Red group (Monday and Thursday) would pick up 3 meals for Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.
White group (Tuesday and Friday) would pick up 3 meals for Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Online learners will pick up 5 meals for Monday through Friday.

Each meal served and/or picked up provides funding to your district’s Food Service Department from USDA - not local monies. Taking a free meal can actually save your district money. If you have any questions, please contact Teresa Murry at 740-852-5700, ext. 3025.
