Welcome To The 2020-2021 Dance School Year!

We hope that everyone has had a wonderful summer! We have an exciting dance year planned for your dancer and we hope that you choose to dance with M.B.D.A.! If you are receiving this email, and you are a new dance parent, WELCOME To OUR DANCE FAMILY! If you have a dancer from from last year, and have not yet registered, there is still time, REGISTER TODAY!

Out of an abundance of caution this year, we will begin the majority of our dance classes at the DANCE STUDIO. Registration for the remaining MBDA2U classes will be available when we are able to return to the schools and resume classes on site. We will be teaching at Knollwood Christian Academy & Dauphin Way Baptist.

In the meantime, we would love for your sweet dancers to join us at the Dance Studio on
Old Shell Road! We are now offering a few extra classes and hope the schedule will work for you. We know how helpful dance class in the school is for parents and we can't wait to get back to it! If your child would like to dance virtually, they will be able to join during their scheduled dance class times.

Classes will start Monday, September 14th! If you have not registered yet, Register Today!

HAPPY DANCING!!!

Tuition
TUITION MUST BE PAID ALONG WITH TUITION BEFORE YOUR CHILD ATTENDS THEIR FIRST CLASS.
Dance Tuition is always due by the 1st of every month, and late by the 10th! The fee options shown below are for each month and include a 3% online ordering convenience fee (indicated in the drop down and PayPal pricing). For your convenience, we have added a Semester Payment Option as well as a Yearly Payment Option. You will not receive a monthly invoice.

After the 15th, a $15 late fee per month will be applied. Please make sure you pay on time each month to avoid late fees. Tuition is based on a yearly rate, from September through May/June, paid in nine payments. Some months have three classes while other months have five classes. Monthly payment installments remain the same throughout the year. We do not prorate tuition for any reason.

Holidays and closures are already calculated into your nine payments. If joining a class after the first week of that month, the full payment installment must be made for that month and makeups in similar classes are encouraged for any missed weeks. There are absolutely no refunds. If at any time, due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, we have move to virtual dance classes, tuition is still due and classes will be held during regular class times.

This year, we have found ourselves in a new normal and we are committed to continuing to offer you the best dance experience. Thanks to technology, we will be providing you with an online dance experience for your dancer to keep them moving, learning and having fun if we have to dance virtually again. If at anytime you are uncomfortable with sending your child to dance class due to Covid-19, your child will still be able to dance VIRTUALLY!
Communication
What We Expect
At Mobile Bay Dance Academy, we teach in a Christian, encouraging, yet structured dance environment. We want our students to learn to love the art dance. This is what we will teach them to do. In return, students should be respectful to all of their fellow dancers and instructors. They should come to class prepared to dance. All students should arrive ready to dance with a ready to learn attitude. They should wear dance appropriate attire and dance shoes. See our dress code for more information about appropriate dance attire.

Communication
We work hard to make the dance experience organized and fun. Keeping you informed is one of our primary goals. Please read all newsletters and other dance class information. The studios primary method of communication with parents is via e-mail. If you are not receiving any e-mails from the us, then please contact us to ensure your
current e-mail address is on file. Please add the studio e-mail address [email protected]
to your e-mail contact list so that all communications will display in your e-mail Inbox and not a spam folder.

***Please Note: While all of our student/parent concerns or questions are important to us, we ask that you respect our staff's personal time and not contact them via Text or Facebook messenger after 7 p.m. or on holidays. You may email us at any time!
Parent Responsibilities
It is the responsibility of the parents to be aware of all dance studio activities, such as recitals, opening or closings, and picture days. When public and private schools close due to weather, the studio will also close. Dance classes will resume when school resumes. The studio notices are posted on the website, in our newsletter and in your email. We also post to Facebook! Please notify us if your address, e-mail address, or telephone number has changed.
No Parents Or Visitors
In Dance Classes
No Parents or visitors are allowed in the dance classroom. Dancers are more focused and perform better with less people in the room. Dance is also about learning independence. You will see your dancer grow so much in confidence from their dance classes. If your child is feeling anxious about being in class without you, you can help by explaining to your child that they can show you what they learned after class.

Rehearsal, Recital, Costumes
Rehearsal & Recital
Our 16th Annual Dance Rehearsal & Recital will be held in May or June. Dates TBA!
All students dancing with MBDA at the studio, their school, preschool or daycare are invited to dance with us.

Dancing in the recital is optional and not a requirement to participate in the class. Expenses will include costumes, recital tickets, tights & shoes. Dance Recital programs and Recital DVDs are optional to purchase. Families may need to attend more than one show in order to see their dancer/dancers perform. If you are not planning for your child to perform in the 2020-2021 Dance Recital, please send written notice before December 1st.

Recital Costume
All costume money is due by November 1st. Costumes are not included in your tuition. The total cost for each costume is $75.00. Each dancer will only have one costume, some costumes will be a 2-in-1. These 2-in-1 dance costumes are convertible costumes appropriate for multiple dance genres.

Costume checks must be written separately from tuition!
There will be an Online Payment Option this year.

There are no costume refunds.
**WHEN WITHDRAWING FROM THE MBDA DANCE PROGRAM PRIOR TO RECEIVING YOUR COSTUMES, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU WILL FORFEIT THEM***

Recital Fee
Recital Fee- $20.00 per child, $30 Per Family
