YOUR DANCER’S FIRST DAY

We want every dancer to have a wonderful first day!

Here are a few things to remember:

✨Please follow the dress and arrival instructions for your dancer’s specific class. Some dancers will arrive dressed and ready for dance, while others will bring their dance attire and change before class.

✨Send all required dance shoes and attire in a labeled dance bag when applicable.

✨Please have hair pulled away from your dancer’s face and secured for class.

✨Label EVERYTHING with your dancer’s name, including shoes, tights, leotards, skirts, and dance bags.

✨Make sure your dancer has everything they need for their specific class by reviewing the Class Schedule & Dress Code information.

💗First-day jitters are completely normal!

Our teachers are ready to welcome your dancer, help them feel comfortable, and make their first class a happy one!

Class Schedule & Dress Code

Each dance class has a specific dress code and required dance shoes. You can view the dress code details by clicking the link provided under each class on the Class Schedule page of our website.

Rehearsal & Recital Dates & Info

Both the Rehearsal and Recital will be held at the

Monte L. Moorer Theater located on St. Paul’s School's campus.

Rehearsal Date: Saturday, June 5, 2027

Recital Date: Sunday, June 6, 2027

Every dancer, whether enrolled at the dance studio, school, preschool, or daycare, is included in our Annual Rehearsal and Recital.

We can’t wait to celebrate another incredible year of dance in June!

Recital Costume

All costume payments are due by November 5, 2026.

Costumes are not included in tuition.

✨The cost of each costume is $90.00.

✨Each dancer will have one costume, which is appropriate for multiple dance genres.

✨No costume refunds will be issued.

📌If your child will not be participating in the recital, you must send written notice before December 1, 2026.

⚠️ Please note: If you withdraw from the MBDA dance program before receiving your costume, you acknowledge and accept that you forfeit the costume.

Thank you for your understanding! We look forward to another beautiful recital season!

Recital Fee

✨$30.00 per dancer

The recital fee reserves your child's place in the recital. This also helps cover the cost of the tech crew, props, security, ballet recital medals, and music licensing for rehearsal and recital weekend.

Other Expenses

Expenses will include costumes, recital tickets, tights, and shoes.

Dance Recital program ads, books, and flowers are optional to purchase.

Policies & Guidelines

📌 Enrollment Fee

  • $35 per child or $60 per family
  • Must be paid before your child’s first class, along with tuition

📌 Tuition Overview

  • Tuition is based on a yearly rate (September–May/June)
  • Divided into nine equal monthly installments
  • Some months have 3 classes, others have 5; monthly payments remain the same
  • Tuition is not prorated for missed classes

📌 Payment Options

We offer three convenient payment plans:

✅ Monthly Installments (9 payments)

✅ Semester Payment

✅ Full-Year Payment

📌 Payment Schedule

  • No monthly invoices will be sent.
  • Tuition is always due before the first class of each term.
  • Please pay on time each month to avoid late fees.

📌 Holidays & Closures

  • Scheduled studio holidays and closures are already factored into your nine payments.
  • If you join after the first week of a month, the full monthly installment is still required.
  • Make-ups in similar-level classes are encouraged for any missed weeks.

📌 No Refund Policy

  • Mobile Bay Dance Academy does not offer refunds, credits, or transfers for any reason.
  • If classes transition to virtual instruction, tuition remains due, and classes will continue at regular times.

🩰 Dress Code

Proper dance attire and shoes are required at all times.

Our dress code is designed to:

✔️ Minimize distractions

✔️ Keep dancers focused

✔️ Ensure safety

✨ Please label all items with your dancer’s name.

🚪 No Visitors in Class

For the benefit of all dancers, parents and visitors are not permitted inside the dance classroom. Dancers focus better and gain confidence when learning independently. If your child feels anxious about being in class alone, reassure them that they will get to show you what they’ve learned after class!

📅 Class Attendance

Regular attendance is essential for your dancer’s growth and the class’s progress.

✅ By attending, we assume students are healthy and able to participate. If your child has an injury (e.g., sprained ankle, cast), please notify us in advance; they may still observe class.

📧 Communication

We work hard to keep the dance experience organized and fun!

  • Our primary method of communication is email.
  • Please read all newsletters and emails carefully.
  • If you are not receiving emails, contact us to verify your address.
  • Add info@mobilebaydanceacademy.com to your contacts to prevent emails from going to spam.

⭐ Respecting Staff Time

While all concerns and questions are important to us, we kindly ask you to respect our staff’s personal time. Please avoid contacting staff via text or Facebook Messenger after 7:00 PM or on holidays.

💗 Questions?

We know the beginning of a new dance year can come with lots of questions! Please don’t hesitate to email us at info@mobilebaydanceacademy.com. We’re always happy to help!
