A LET'S GO MEET & GREET
The board members meet the team!
On November 14, LET'S GO team members joined our Board of Directors for our last quarterly board meeting of 2016.  The Board learned about each person's passion for the LET'S GO mission and their dedicated role in the day to day business of STEM education in the underserved community.  Our discussion featured the unique pathways of five of our STEM Scholars and how their perseverance is opening up doors for a STEM Career. 

The board members experienced a  "virtual" tour of the daily ins and outs of what happens in LET'S GO out-of-school STEM activities for students in grades K through 8th grade.  Result: Everyone had a BLAST!

J acqueline high fives Millard Firebaugh with Tom Eccles focusing on the challenge to design, build and test a neutral buoyant object nicknamed "Flinker". Rear Admiral  Firebaugh and Rear Admiral  Eccles are retired admirals and were among the foremost designers of naval ships while serving in the US Navy.  Their designs equaled but did not surpass those of our better 5th grade students. 
 Jim Arrison (standing) and Bob Graham  (kneeling) are intrigued by Myeisha  Johnson  (VISTA) and Meg Viar on a science  experiment which challenge our STEM  students.
