About the LFA Gala
Annually, on a single night, members of the LFA community gather, celebrate, and raise funds to support a project selected by the Board of Trustees to enhance the LFA experience. During this year’s event, guests will be invited to raise paddles supporting the Academy’s commitment to the physical and mental well-being of its students, faculty, and staff through athletics.

Harris Plays in NCAA Tournament
Congratulations to LFA alumnus Chris Harris '17, a guard with Southeast Missouri State men's basketball team, who helped the Redhawks qualify for the NCAA Tournament. A 1,000-point career scorer and the 2023 Ohio Valley Conference Tournament MVP, Chris was the lead scorer in the team's March 14 match-up against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. While the Redhawks fell to the Islanders 75-71, Chris led the team with 23 points. Congratulations, Chris! We're so proud of you! Read more about Chris here.
Alumni, Students Gather for Networking Night
The Josh Rothstein Young Alumni-Student Networking Night at LFA on March 8 was an enormous success with more than 80 students in all grades in attendance.

Thank you to our nine alumni representatives, who engaged with students about career networking and shared valuable advice. This event, sponsored by the Office of Alumni Engagement and in partnership with the family of Josh Rothstein '05, is a wonderful value-add to our students' education.

Click here for photos and here to learn more about this event and Josh Rothstein '05, for whom it is named. Our impressive roster of alumni represented the fields of medicine, film, sports entertainment, venture capital, law, consulting, wealth management, and tech.

Our Almost Alumni!
Members of the Advancement Office visited the senior seminar classes (Health, Wellness & Community) in February to talk to the Class of 2023 about the alumni program and how to stay involved. Here, seniors sign the class paver, which will be placed in the patio at Alumni Circle near the Bowditch Bell during their senior celebration night. We look forward to welcoming our 117 seniors into the alumni community in May 2023.
Class Notes and Death Notices
We plan to run class notes and death notices in the alumni enews as well as in the Review. Please click here to read recent submissions. Send your career/family updates and photos to classnotes@lfanet.org
Stephen C. Ryder Visiting Artist Series
We are proud to announce the inaugural Stephen C. Ryder Visiting Artist, Chicago-based interdisciplinary instrumental music ensemble Mucca Pazza.

Mucca Pazza will perform in the Cressey Center for the Arts at LFA on Sat., April 8, at 7 p.m. This concert is open to the Lake Forest Academy alumni and parent community and is free of charge.

Mucca Pazza has made a name for themselves through their “alarmingly danceable” music composed and arranged especially for their mash-up of instruments, ranging from marching band mainstays like trumpets, saxophones, clarinets, trombones, and tubas to less-expected pieces like electric guitars, accordion, violin, and a cello.

This performance is funded by the Stephen C. Ryder Visiting Artist Series, established by Karen and Matt Kaplan P’07 and Doug Kaplan ’07, in recognition of Co-ax founder and veteran faculty member Steve Ryder.

Email Director of Annual and Reunion Giving Hannah Shallenberger (hshallenberger@lfanet.org) if you plan to attend or have questions.
Oh, The Places We Go: Spring Break Challenge
This Spring Break, we are challenging alumni to step up and help underwrite the costs of student curricular travel at LFA. Make your gift now!

Curricular travel is an impactful learning experience, one that young people value in the moment and for years to come. Perhaps you remember a travel experience that changed your worldview?

This semester, students are heading to a number of destinations, including Cuba and Olympic National Park in Washington.

Curricular travel is linked to a specific course or area of study. LFA covers the costs associated with these trips, making them accessible to all students, no matter their financial circumstances.

Goal: 102 gifts in honor of the 102 students who are taking trips this semester.
