Greetings!
How wonderful it was to see so many of you for Alumni Weekend & Reunion on campus in September. Thank you for making the journey to the Academy to celebrate your milestone reunions. Take a look at photos here. There were several lovely opportunities throughout the weekend to connect alumni with students, including at the Ferry Hall Lunch and the Multicultural Dialogue. I hope you enjoyed that interaction and are as impressed as we are with the caliber of our students.
We look forward to seeing alumni around the country as we resume our travels. See below for upcoming get-togethers. Happy autumn!

Distinguished Alumna Speaks with School Community
Ferry Hall alumna Sheri Kersch Schultz '72 visited campus to celebrate her 50th reunion and to accept her award as this year's Woman of Distinction during Alumni Weekend & Reunion 2022.
During the all-school meeting on Sept. 23, Sheri addressed our community of students, faculty, and staff. She discussed her journey from Ohio to Ferry Hall; her education and career in design; and her partnership with her husband, Howard Schultz, in building Starbucks Coffee Company. In addition, she spoke
passionately about her real purpose in life: starting the Schultz Family Foundation, which provides access and opportunity to some of the most underserved in society. Thank you, Sheri, for sharing your wisdom and insights with our students. We are proud to call you an alumna!
"You all have something special within you, a talent, a gift, an act of kindness. Find it and focus on it. Discover your purpose. It will be a powerful guide to everything you do in life." --Sheri Kersch Schultz '72

Have You Claimed Your Funds from the Caxy Legacy Challenge?
The Caxy Legacy Challenge, fueled by Sheri Kersch Schultz '72 (Ferry Hall alumna and 2022 Woman of Distinction honoree) and David Gupta '81 (LFA alumnus, Trustee-elect, and 2021 LFA Hall of Famer), provides immediate challenge funds to individuals who create a new bequest commitment or who verify an existing bequest through documentation. Challenge dollars are directed toward a current endowment fund of the donor's choosing. Eligible estate gift commitments of $50,000 or more unlock 10% of the gift's face value from the challenge pool, up to a maximum of $10,000.
Estate gifts strengthen the LFA endowment, providing stability for the school's future. Endowment funds provide essential resources for student financial aid, faculty professional development and other designated purposes. Click the link to learn more about the Caxy Legacy Challenge or visit LFA's gift planning webpage at lfa.givingplan.net.
