Celebrating the 14th Annual Fashion Showcase

The 14th Annual Fashion Showcase was a resounding success! From students walking the runway to playing chess to showing off their talents at coding, art, and woodworking, the guests in attendance got a small glimpse into the amazing educational world Lift For Life Academy provides these scholars.

The Academy now enrolls 860 students who are thriving here every day, and the funds raised at our event will make a difference to the educational journey of each child enrolled at LFLA. Together, we celebrate the achievement and opportunity that we offer at Lift for Life Academy. With the dedication and generosity of our supporters, we can continue on this journey to Educate, Empower, and Uplift every scholar who walks through our doors.

Dariana G. (11th grade) walked the runway for the first time this year and said, "At first when we were rehearsing, I was nervous, but then when I got on the runway and everyone was cheering me on, I felt confident and had a lot of fun."

Sharee M. (12th grade) has walked in every Fashion Show since her sophomore year and said this final year was bittersweet. "I was a little sad when it was over. I wish I could do it again and again."

Another runway pro, Beauty S. (12th grade) said this was her favorite high school experience. "I'm really going to miss it after I graduate."

Antonia Jones, one of this year's fashion teachers and LFLA Class of 2018, said the day of the Fashion Show brought back so many memories. "I used to reminisce about when I was in high school walking the runway! This year's event felt surreal." Antonia, along with fellow fashion teachers and alumni, Nicole Alston and Jazmyne Coleman, walked the catwalk again this year in their own handmade designs to close out the showcase.

Antonia said, "Being in the Fashion Show was an amazing moment to be a part of and I can't wait to share more moments with the LFLA Fashion Program."

We were thrilled to honor the Ferring Family Foundation, the Guth Foundation Charitable Trust, and Sister Jackie Toben for their steadfast commitment to Lift For Life Academy.

We would like to say a special “thank you” to The Ritz-Carlton, St. Louis for providing a stunning venue, as well as Susan Goldberg and Audra and Beau Herndon for serving as our event chairs, and Rene Knott for hosting as the event’s emcee. We would also like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all of our wonderful sponsors and committee members who were instrumental in making this event a success.
