As a journalist, Steve tries to use his experience to help folks understand the underlying trends and issues that, as he says, “don’t always show up in the latest Twitter tussle,” and considers himself, “an analyst not an advocate.” The 2020 election will be the 14th presidential campaign Steve Roberts has covered as a bureau chief for the New York Times, and as a Congressional and White House correspondent (ALL).

National Philharmonic Black Classical Music Pioneers / pre-concert lecture, dinner, concert /
Strathmore Music Center.
European musical forms gain vibrancy through the influence of African-American traditions and the blending of classical and popular styles. Program includes Wild Strumming of Fiddle by Wynton Marsalis; Violin Concerto No. 1 (1939) by Florence Price, the first African-American woman to be widely recognized as a symphonic composer; the Lyric for Strings (1946) by George Walker, the first African-American composer to win the Pulitzer Prize for Music; Symphony No. 1 (1930) by William Grant Still, the first symphony written by an African-American composer. Solo violinist is Melissa White.

. Julie will explain the bio-mechanics of gait and balance and the importance of maintaining physical activity. She will also offer individualized assessments on participants’ balance, and offer her thoughts on the design of an activity program including recommended exercises to improve gait and strengthen balance (ALL).

finding answers to questions you may have.

and the increasing iPhone skills of attendees, Bob Girouard, our Tech Expert, is offering an ADDITIONAL afternoon class each Tuesday for more advanced iPhone users. The times of the 2 classes are:
