Word from the President

Hello, LGA members and supporters. What an amazing (and HOT) summer it has been. The Louisiana Gas Association has had a fulfilling year so far, thanks to all of you. We started off the beginning of the year with the GASTEC Expo Day with BRAMAS, numerous trainings at our GASTEC facility, a well-attended Scholarship Golf Tournament and Crawfish Boil in Jennings, and we just wrapped up the 2024 Pipeline Safety Conference in New Orleans.

The LGA Board is working to make the last months of this year for our members and supporters the best it can be. There are still opportunities to get involved & participate with LGA in our upcoming events (see below). We hope you'll be joining us!

Member Spotlight

I began my career within the industry in 1980 when I was employed by Cleco. After dissolving the gas portion of the business, it was rebranded as Trans La Gas, later evolving into Energas, and eventually becoming Atmos Energy, the name it carries today.

I worked within several different departmental positions and job classifications, as well as serving on several different company committees throughout my 42 years with Atmos Energy. After retirement from Atmos in 2022, I began employment with Gridsource INC. LLC as Director of Operations for the natural gas division. I was then promoted to my current role as Vice President of Operations. Along with the team, we have developed and grown the company two-fold within a 2 1/2-year time period, with proven safe, efficient, and productive services for our clients and customers.

I have been involved with the Louisiana Gas Association for the past 30 years as a participant of events, committee member of several teams, former chairperson of the Education & Training Committee, and now Chairing the Scholarship Committee and serving on the Board of Directors. The LGA has provided a wealth of industry knowledge and an abundance of networking opportunities for me as I have grown both my professional and personal friendship base tremendously.

In closing, one thing people may not know about me is that I proudly, ethically, and successfully served three terms unopposed (12 years total) as a member of the Breaux Bridge City Council. For four of those years, I served as Mayor Pro Tem, a position elected by the remaining council members and administration.

My family consists of my wife Stephanie of 39 years, my son Ross, and my daughter Danielle along with their spouses and two children each, two grandsons and two granddaughters!

2024 Scholarship Recipients

The Louisiana Gas Association (LGA) announces the 7 recipients of its 2024 Scholarship, which is awarded to the children or legal wards of individuals employed by active LGA member companies enrolled full-time at a 4-year college or university with 60 or more credit hours.

The recipients below have been awarded $1,200 each for their scholastic and extracurricular accomplishments. This has been made possible with the help of the Scholarship Golf Tournament and the Sporting Clay Tournament, which raises about $30,000 every year for the College Scholarship Program. Thank you to those who have participated in these events! It has allowed this organization to give back to students pursuing a higher education.
