LGBT MPA at PCMA Educon 2022!
This week, LGBT Meeting Professionals Association partnered with PCMA to bring DE&I programming, brought you you by Marriott International.
Some of the courses LGBT MPA produced were, The Business Case for Diversity, EIDB: Inclusive Event Strategies, and our panel discussion, Rolling Out the Rainbow Carpet: Creating Welcome Destinations!
Our panelists, Maria GrassoJason Dunn Sr., and Rory G. Archibald, and our moderator, Chase Brunson, CMP had a enlightening and informative discussion on what their destinations are doing to be more inclusive and welcoming as well as what strategies other destinations can utilize in their own cities! Creating welcoming destinations is essential and inclusion matters!

Special thanks to Josh Henry for helping plan this panel discussion as well as all of the education sessions this week! And to Jean Craciun for moderating our Business Case for Diversity course!

Pride Events in Spain!
LGBTIQ+ Pride Festival in Madrid, July 1st - July 10th, La Plaza de la Puerta del Sol: As part of the movement for LGBTIQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual, intersex and queer) rights, the city of Madrid becomes a gigantic party for a whole week, attracting thousands of people from all over the world.
The streets of many neighbourhoods, especially Chueca (well known for its gay community and open-minded spirit) are filled with outdoor bars, pavement cafés, live music, a wide variety of people all set on having a great time, cultural activities, and more. The highlight of this celebration comes on Saturday, with a mass parade along one of Madrid’s main thoroughfares, from Atocha to Plaza de Colón. 
Ibiza Gay Pride, June 10th - June 18th: The LGBT community celebrates its festival of pride, tolerance and defence of gay rights in Ibiza, in the heart of the Mediterranean Sea, accompanied by the perfect summer weather of the Balearic Islands.
These days are a time for uninterrupted recreation, thanks to its nightlife that is unique in the world and its internationally famous clubs, its idyllic beaches where you can enjoy the sun and the Mediterranean Sea, and the city of Eivissa, whose historic centre has been declared a part of our World Heritage by the UNESCO… and all in a gay friendly atmosphere of fun and high spirits.
Culture and Business Pride, June 11th - June 18th: The island of Tenerife (Canary Islands) hosts this international festival dedicated to the LGBTIQ culture, rights and businesses.
An activism event for the LGBTIQ group and the right to love through a music festival, beach conferences, Alan Turing awards, the creation of work networks and an extensive leisure programme. Some of the international personalities attending the festival include, Carlinhos Brown, Pussy Riot, Chelsea Manning, Robert Biedron, Isabel Coixet and Carlos Umaña.
