LGBT MPA Calls for United Action on LGBTQIA2+ Inclusion in Events Industry
Alexandria, VA. – The LGBT Meeting Professionals Association (LGBT MPA), the voice of the LGBTQIA2+ global events community, remains steadfast in its advocacy for equality and inclusivity within the meetings and events industry. Amid today's polarized political and social landscape and recent actions undermining LGBTQIA2+ rights, we recognize the power and influence of our community to drive change and set a global standard for acceptance and belonging.
We call on our members, allies, and the global events community to unite with us in adopting and promoting policies that protect LGBTQIA2+ rights, address biases, and dismantle barriers. As meeting professionals, we hold a unique responsibility to create spaces where diversity thrives in designing and creating experiences reflecting our tapestry of human identities.
Together, we must promote a culture of acceptance and inclusivity, ensuring that all voices are heard and respected—at the planning table, conferences and events, and throughout the attendee journey. Our commitment extends beyond words to action, holding ourselves and our industry accountable for creating environments where everyone can fully belong, without fear of discrimination or exclusion.
