Brother Angel Gabriel Roque, BSG
We are excited to welcome Brother Angel as our preacher this month.
Br. Angel Gabriel Roque has been called to be the new Rio Grande Diocesan Missioner for youth and young adults.
Br. Angel is a monk in the Brotherhood of Saint Gregory, a Christian Community of the Episcopal Church of lay and ordained men who follow a common rule and serve the Church on parochial, diocesan and National levels.
Currently, Angel is finishing his duties in the Diocese of Southeast Florida where he is the Director of Parish Ministries, occasional preacher, spiritual director, and sub-deacon in his home parish of Saint Bernard de Clairvaux Episcopal Church and Ancient Spanish Monastery and Gardens in North Miami Beach Florida.
He has held the office of President for the R. K. Rolason Convocation of Vergers and is an active member of the diocesan Young Adult Ministry and the Young Adult Council in the Diocese of Southeast Florida. At the National Church level, Angel serves as a member of the Standing Commission on Liturgy and Music of The Episcopal Church.
Prior to being hired by the Diocese of the Rio Grande, Angel worked in behavioral health as a Certified Recovery Peer Specialist for the South Florida Wellness Network serving people in recovery with a focus on opiate addictions and trauma.
He resides at the moment in Fort Lauderdale Florida, with his husband, Darwin Pitts, an Account Executive for Vista Global Private Jets. Along with their pup “Koko”, Angel and Darwin look forward to relocating soon to Albuquerque to join our Diocesan family.
