Dear Friends,

Thank you for supporting LGBTQ+ compassion in action. In this issue:

  • LGBTQ International Giving during COVID-19
  • Training Nurses in Guatemala
  • Empowering Women in Uganda
LGBTQ+ INTERNATIONAL DONATIONS COUNT MORE THAN EVER
During these tough economic times, please remember that your gift to help the global community is needed more than ever and will have a tremendous impact! We all know how tight finances are -- even in the richest countries of the world. Locally, several of our RWF volunteers have lost their "day jobs" due to the impact of COVID-19 on the economy.
As you reach out to help and support your friends and families in need please remember our larger global family. RWF currently
supports programs in some of the poorest and dangerous areas of the world (Cuba, Guatemala, Iraq, Mexico, Syria, Mexico, Uganda). Many of the communities we serve are "on the edge" of severe humanitarian distress even in the best of times. The current worldwide recession and subsequent scaling back of charitable donations is having catastrophic effects in the developing world. Please help our global family and donate today.
GRANTS: EMPOWERING WOMAN IN UGANDA AND GUATEMALA
Thank you for making RWF's two most recent aid grants possible.

RWF made a $5,000 grant to train nurses in Guatemala. RWF is funding the nurse training program at the Women in Solidarity Clinic in Guatemala City. RWF began supporting this program in 2004. Many of the Auxiliary Nurse trainees currently work in nearby sweatshops and some are survival sex workers. In addition to medical training, building self-esteem and autonomy, the program focuses on sexual, reproductive rights education.
RWF made a $5,000 grant to train women in Uganda with job skills like tailoring and baking. These women include single mothers, most of whom are widows, who lost their husbands as a result to HIV/AIDS leaving them with family responsibilities that they can’t afford to fulfill. Through this project, women will
be able to make a living for themselves and provide support for their families. It will also help them learn how to prevent HIV/AIDS for themselves and their families.
