For over 20 years, RWF has been providing aid to vulnerable children.

As LGBTQ+ people, we have a unique opportunity to shape our legacy concerning children. Since many of us don’t have children, RWF is creating a tradition of helping the children in need around the world. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if our community were known for that?

This year, thanks to your generous support, RWF helped children in Afghanistan, Cuba, Guatemala, Mexico, and Uganda who were affected by poverty, conflict, and natural disasters.

Since 2005, RWF has helped children in Guatemala by delivering medical and school supplies, funding orphanages, clinics, and water projects, and providing mobility devices for children with disabilities. We also work with local partners to improve health, education, and living conditions, especially for vulnerable youth in rural areas.

RWF has supported Transiciones in providing custom wheelchairs and prosthetic devices for children with disabilities, helping them move more freely and with dignity.

Our volunteers have brought thousands of pounds of medical supplies—such as antibiotics, HIV medications, vitamins, and first-aid kits—to clinics and orphanages.

We have given thousands of stuffed animals to children in schools, orphanages, and hospitals.

We have funded school buildings and infrastructure, including a computer lab at a middle school. We also distribute school supplies and offer grants to help children stay in school through high school and university.

Since 2008, RWF has supported children in Mexico by giving humanitarian aid and financial grants to local groups in Tijuana and Oaxaca.

RWF empowers orphans and disadvantaged youth by supporting their education and meeting their basic needs.

RWF has delivered more than 5,000 pounds of medications, medical and school supplies, art materials, computers, and toiletries.

RWF has given over 1,500 Christmas gifts and hundreds of stuffed animals to children in orphanages and hospitals.

RWF gives grants to orphanages and children’s homes.

RWF supports a scholarship program that helps students from low-income families attend university and work toward a better future.

RWF has provided food, shelter, and care for vulnerable children after natural disasters in Mexico.

Since 2012, RWF has been helping children in Cuba, especially those with chronic illnesses or affected by natural disasters.

RWF funds two-week summer camps in Matanzas for children with HIV, cancer, and other serious illnesses. The kids enjoy swimming, sports, games, and trips to amusement parks. The camps help them learn self-care, become more independent, and build confidence.

RWF helps pay for schooling for children with developmental and neurological disabilities.

RWF brings life-saving medicines and medical equipment straight to clinics and hospitals that care for Cuban children.

RWF has provided food and emergency supplies to families and communities affected by hurricanes and other disasters.

RWF volunteers have given out hundreds of stuffed animals and school supplies to children in hospitals, schools, and children's homes.

RWF also backs human rights work in Cuba, including advocacy and scholarships that help LGBTQ+ youth and activists connect and get training to stand up to homophobia and transphobia.

Since 2018, RWF has supported children in Uganda by funding local programs that offer basic needs, education, and protection for the country’s most vulnerable youth.

RWF funds the Milele Foundation in Kampala to help street children, children with disabilities, and those who usually cannot attend school. These programs give children a safe place and hot meals they would not have at home.

RWF’s support helps orphans and displaced children get education and housing, giving them a better chance to escape poverty.

Since Uganda passed strict anti-LGBTQ+ laws, RWF funds emergency shelter, food, and safe passage for LGBTQ+ people, including minors who face criminalization or persecution.

RWF also pays for medical care for children and families who are in danger or fleeing persecution.

Since 2022, RWF has supported children and families from Afghanistan by funding safe houses and providing help for LGBTQ+ individuals, women, children, and human rights defenders who have been evacuated. While these families wait to resettle in Western countries, RWF ensures they have food, medical care, and opportunities to learn basic skills, even in dangerous situations.

RWF works through changing frontlines and risky routes to help vulnerable families and their children escape persecution and find safety in other countries.

RWF pays for safe houses in nearby countries for families and children escaping persecution in Afghanistan. While waiting to be resettled, children in safe houses receive education and care.

RWF provides food, shelter, and medical care for the entire family, ensuring children have what they need to survive.

RWF uses emergency funds to move families to safer countries and pays their expenses until they are resettled, giving children a chance at a safer future.
