Protecting the Land that Protects the Lake since 1988

The LGLC purchased 192 acres in the Town of Bolton on November 21. The “Wing Pond Addition” was one of several priority conservation projects identified in this summer's 2025 Land Campaign. Featuring three acres of wetlands and more than 1,000 feet of stream corridor, the property provides critical water quality protection.

The undeveloped forested property shares nearly half a mile of its boundary with the LGLC-owned Wing Pond Preserve and also borders NYS DEC-owned Wild Forest. Its stream flows into the LGLC’s recently protected 207-acre Sundew Pond Preserve, which flows into Lake George’s Northwest Bay.

We are grateful to the Miller family, who owned and cared for the land for decades, for working with the LGLC to see the land permanently protected.

Sarah, Jim, and John Miller expressed, “When Captain James Miller purchased acreage in North Bolton in the late 60s, it was to protect and preserve the land. His children are grateful that going forward, the LGLC will be taking over the stewardship of this beautiful property.”

The LGLC has been awarded a grant from Sylvamo that enable us to include more educational programs in 2026!

These programs will include three new opportunities for the 2026 Discovery Series to get out and around the watershed, as well as several birding outings.

Donations by mail must be postmarked by December 31, 2025 to be processed as a donation for 2025. (Please note that credit card donations received after December 31 will be processed as a 2026 donation, regardless of postmark date.)

Online donations must be made by 11:59 pm on Sunday, December 31 to be processed for 2025.

December 29-31: Open 10 AM – 2 PM

January 1: CLOSED

Regular hours of Monday-Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM, will resume January 2.
