Gratitude and Reciprocity

I awoke this morning with devout thanksgiving for my friends,

the old and the new.

RALPH WALDO EMERSON

Our sincerest thanks to all friends of the LGLC - volunteers, donors, event participants, hikers, and all who enjoy the lands we care for - we would not be where we are today without you.

In 2025, nearly 1,000 people joined us for 50+ public outreach events, and tens of thousands of visitors and residents alike took to the trails to enjoy the clean air, fantastic views, and restorative benefits of nature.

To date, we have permanently protected 14,200+ acres of land that will forever protect Lake George. Thanks to your generosity, we are on track to protect several hundred more by the year's end, ensuring these special places remain healthy and beautiful for future generations.

Thank you for being a part of our legacy protecting Lake George.

Seth Harris Honors LGLC as Beneficiary of Sunmark Charitable Foundation Award

LGLC Communications Manager Sarah Hoffman and awardee Seth Harris stand next to a sign that display a description of the Susan V. Siegel Community Service Leader Award.

LGLC's Sarah Hoffman was pleased and honored to attend the Sunmark Charitable Foundation's awards banquet to celebrate "community champions," including LGLC friend and volunteer, Seth Harris.

Seth received the Foundation's Susan V. Siegel Community Service Leader Award, recognizing his impact as an educator and volunteer, inspiring learning, connection, and stewardship throughout his community.

The award includes $2,500 to be given to the nonprofit of the award winner's choice; Seth wished to donate his award funds to the Lake George Land Conservancy, supporting future outdoor education projects that will inspire students and neighbors alike to connect with nature, give back, and care for the place we all love. Congratulations, Seth, and thank you for choosing the LGLC!

Christmas Bird Count: Sunday, December 14

CBC-No-Date-Blue-Jay-FB image

Help count birds for this nation-wide Audubon program, organized locally by the LGLC! The CBC is a winter bird census with over 100 years of community science involvement.

Our 15-mile circle includes Amy’s Park in Bolton south to Pilot Knob Preserve in Fort Ann, and the Schroon River in Warrensburg east to Sleeping Beauty and Black Mt in Dresden.

Survey routes by foot, car, or boat, or watch a feeder, and submit bird counts as well as weather conditions and hours to the LGLC, which then provides all of the compiled information to Audubon.

Register below or email Events and Fundraising Manager Janice Reynen at jreynen@lglc.org for more information. Thank you!
