Wisconsin Forward Testing will take place the end of March and in April. Goal setting and practice tests will be taking place over the next couple of weeks in Homeroom in anticipation of Forward testing.
The examination is a statewide, standardized and summative assessment given to students that gauges your child’s achievement in the content areas tested in relation to grade-level standards. Results from these academic tests will help us evaluate our curriculum and instruction and provide another measure of how your child is achieving academically.

2027-2028 Facilities and Grade
Configuration Plan
| | |
Parents/Guardians,
The Lake Geneva Joint #1 School District has reviewed school configurations to better align our facilities with long‑term enrollment projections and to protect our academic, operational, and financial stability. As recommended by District Administration, the Joint #1 School Board of Education approved a Facilities and Grade Configuration Plan that will take effect for the 2027-2028 school year.
The 2027-2028 Facilities and Grade Configuration Plan was developed following studies and research, along with input from a Community Action Committee composed of parents, staff, local business leaders, city and town officials, alumni, and community members. The plan is designed to align our facilities with enrollment trends, preserve instructional programming, and ensure the district’s long‑term sustainability.
2027-2028 Facilities and Grade Configuration Plan:
1. Create two balanced elementary schools with similar student enrollment totals, utilizing Star Center and Central-Denison facilities by establishing attendance boundaries within the district.
2. Shift 5th Grade to Lake Geneva Middle School, creating a 5th-8th grade campus.
3. Repurpose Eastview to stabilize and grow student enrollment and enhance community connections, including an early childhood learning center, expansion of alternative education (i.e., the district’s charter schools), and community-focused programs and partnerships.
We will spend the next 18 months finalizing the details and logistics to implement the 2027-2028 Facilities and Grade Configuration Plan. During that time, we will share regular updates and offer support, so families have ample time to prepare. Please be patient as we work through the remaining steps; we are committed to engaging the community throughout the process to ensure a smooth transition.
We recognize these changes will affect families, students, and routines. Please know this decision was made thoughtfully and with a commitment to the well-being and success of every student. These changes are an opportunity to ensure we can continue offering excellent programs and high‑quality education for all students now and in the future.
We know that no matter the configuration of our schools, what defines our schools remains the same: the students, staff, and families who build strong relationships and meaningful learning experiences every day.
We are committed to continued community engagement as implementation progresses, and we value your partnership in this important work. For updates as additional information becomes available, please visit our website.
Sincerely,
Peter C. Wilson, Ph.D.

Important:
Student Attendance Procedures
| | Students need to be to school by 7:10am and are to be in their homeroom by the time the bell rings at 7:20am. | | |
Student Attendance and Attendance Procedures
One of the biggest ways parents/guardians can help their child succeed this school year is to make sure their child gets to school, on time, each and every day. The evidence is clear: children with good attendance are more likely to be successful in school. High attendance rates are linked to high student achievement. Every day counts, and missing school even 10% of the time has a significant negative impact on reading and math achievement as children progress through school. We want to ask for parent’s/guardian’s commitment to making sure their child attends school every day possible this year.
When a child does have to be absent from school, we ask that you communicate with us about the absence BEFORE 8:00AM. When your child will be absent, you have three communication options:
Call Mrs. Kramp in the main office at 262-348-3040 to speak with her and/or leave a message.
| | |
When to Send Your Child to School or Keep Them Home?
At Lake Geneva Schools, we know that regular attendance is key to academic success! Being in class daily helps students build strong habits, stay engaged, and gain valuable social skills. However, we also want to maintain a healthy, germ-free learning environment.
Use this guide (https://bit.ly/healthyLGS) to help decide when your child should attend school or stay home to recover. If your child has a fever over 100.4°F, vomiting, or diarrhea in the last 24 hours, it's best for them to rest at home. For minor symptoms like a runny nose, if there’s no fever, they’re ready for class!
When in doubt, contact the school health office, and let's work together to keep everyone healthy and learning!
| | LGMS Athletic Registration (Concussion Form) | | |
Hello LGMS Parents/Guardians!
We are very excited for this coming school year! For our athletics, we do have forms that are required for participation. We will be having parents/guardians complete the concussion/cardiac arrest agreement (waiver) through google form (linked below). This form is needed for your child to participate in ANY athletic intramural or interscholastic sport at LGMS but only needs to be filled out once per year. This form also needs to be filled out with your child. We want athletes to know and understand the signs and symptoms of a concussion or possible cardiac arrest.
All of the information needed is linked on the google form. This google form will need to be filled out prior to the first practice of the sport your student signs up for to be able to participate.
Also required is a school physical form. Please see link to the form below. This form is to be filled out by the parent and physician.
