Quarter 2 begins Monday, November 3rd.
Students will receive their Quarter 2 schedules in Homeroom on Monday morning and can also view their schedule in Powerschool.
Quarter 1 report cards will be emailed by the end of next week.

Unfortunately, the United States Navy Band Commodores jazz ensemble at Lake Geneva Middle School on November 1 at 7 p.m. has been canceled. We hope to partner with them in the future to bring this wonderful performance back to our community.

LGMS Hope Squad is hosting a penny war between the grades December 1st-5th. All proceeds will help to support a LGMS family for the holidays. The grade with the most money will receive a treat from the Hope Squad team on December 16th during homeroom. All silver or dollars will be deducted from pennies in each jar.

PARENTS NEED TO DROP OFF STUDENTS AROUND 7:10AM AS THE BELL RINGS FOR STUDENTS TO GO TO THEIR FIRST PERIOD CLASS.
ALL STUDENTS NEED TO BE IN THEIR HOMEROOM AT 7:20AM WHEN THE FINAL BELL RINGS OR THEY WILL BE CONSIDERED TARDY.
For the safety of everyone, please take a close look at our morning drop-off map for LGMS. We ask that when you are dropping off your student in the morning to please follow the arrows and instructions indicated on the map below.
If you choose to drop off in the parking lot, please pull into a parking space. You cannot drop off in the driving lane of the parking lot.
Thank you for your patience and consideration in keeping the safety of our students a first priority.

Doors: The side door 17 is open at 6:30am with supervision.
The main doors will be open at 7:00am. Please drop off on the side of building as much as you can.

We have 3 easy ways to reach the LGMS main office:

- If you are calling your student in for an absence, please call or email by 8:00am.

If you are picking up your student for an appt, please send a note in the morning. Your student needs to bring it to the office before FLEX.
Dr. Kokodynski Patients: Did you know that if you have an appointment with Dr. Kokodynski that you can write your student a note with permission for them to walk over for their appointment. We do need parent permission for your student to walk over.
PLANNED ABSENCES
If your student is going to be out of school for 3 or more days you can request a planned absence sheet to collect what work they miss when they are out of school.
Students can always check their google classroom for missing assignments.

Student Attendance and Attendance Procedures
One of the biggest ways parents/guardians can help their child succeed this school year is to make sure their child gets to school, on time, each and every day. The evidence is clear: children with good attendance are more likely to be successful in school. High attendance rates are linked to high student achievement. Every day counts, and missing school even 10% of the time has a significant negative impact on reading and math achievement as children progress through school. We want to ask for parent’s/guardian’s commitment to making sure their child attends school every day possible this year.
When a child does have to be absent from school, we ask that you communicate with us about the absence BEFORE 8:00AM. When your child will be absent, you have three communication options:
Call Mrs. Kramp in the main office at 262-348-3040 to speak with her and/or leave a message.

When to Send Your Child to School or Keep Them Home?
At Lake Geneva Schools, we know that regular attendance is key to academic success! Being in class daily helps students build strong habits, stay engaged, and gain valuable social skills. However, we also want to maintain a healthy, germ-free learning environment.
Use this guide (https://bit.ly/healthyLGS) to help decide when your child should attend school or stay home to recover. If your child has a fever over 100.4°F, vomiting, or diarrhea in the last 24 hours, it's best for them to rest at home. For minor symptoms like a runny nose, if there’s no fever, they’re ready for class!
When in doubt, contact the school health office, and let's work together to keep everyone healthy and learning!
| | LGMS Athletic Registration (Concussion Form) | | |
Hello LGMS Parents/Guardians!
We are very excited for this coming school year! For our athletics, we do have forms that are required for participation. We will be having parents/guardians complete the concussion/cardiac arrest agreement (waiver) through google form (linked below). This form is needed for your child to participate in ANY athletic intramural or interscholastic sport at LGMS but only needs to be filled out once per year. This form also needs to be filled out with your child. We want athletes to know and understand the signs and symptoms of a concussion or possible cardiac arrest.
All of the information needed is linked on the google form. This google form will need to be filled out prior to the first practice of the sport your student signs up for to be able to participate.
Also required is a school physical form. Please see link to the form below. This form is to be filled out by the parent and physician.

Lake Geneva Schools (Badger and Joint #1) is excited to continue to offer students FREE Breakfast for the 2025 - 2026 School Year.
School breakfast is healthy, convenient, and helps students do well in school. Every student at Badger High School, New Visions Charter School, Lake Geneva Middle School, Star Center Elementary School, Eastview Elementary School, Central-Denison Elementary School, and Maple Park Charter School is eligible to receive a healthy breakfast at their school each day till the end of the school year for no charge.
We are extremely happy to provide this service to our community. We encourage all students to participate!

Students and parents! Alpine Valley is offering a ‘ski card’ that allows you to purchase lift tickets at a reduced price during the season. The card itself costs $30. Present the card at the ticket window to buy a reduced priced ($30) lift ticket for skiing after 3pm Sunday through Friday during the ski season.
You can buy a card for anyone under the age of 18. See Mr. Turk in 308 or email him at scott.turk@badger.k12.wi.us for information or to purchase the cards. Cash only and exact amount only please.
| | What's Happening at LGMS?? | | On Thursday, October 16, 2025, the Lake Geneva Middle School Counseling Department had the distinct honor of celebrating outstanding students at their Above & Beyond Ceremony. This prestigious award is designed to showcase outstanding students who go above and beyond everyday expectations at Lake Geneva Middle School. The winners have displayed qualities such as overcoming challenges, exceeding typical performance, displaying perseverance, consistently staying positive, and supporting others. | | Mrs. Halls 8th grade science “measurama” event! | | Friday was all about teamwork! Our LGMS 8th graders took on the challenge of building strong and durable dogsleds, and they nailed it! Great job showing creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration! | | |
Ms. Soto Mendoza’s bilingual learners at the middle school recently explored the cultural traditions of Halloween and Día de Los Muertos through engaging language activities that involved reading, writing, speaking, and listening to learn about these topics. As part of their learning, students built a vibrant ofrenda decorated with bright papel picado, orange cempasúchil flowers, colorful sugar skulls, and framed photos of passed loved ones. The whole school was invited to participate in this celebration of life by contributing pictures of their loved ones who have passed on, including pets! This hands-on project helped them connect with important vocabulary in both English and Spanish. The display, featured outside of Ms. Soto's room showcases the students’ creativity and respect for this meaningful tradition. It will stay up through November 7th. Students and staff at the middle school are encouraged to add photos or email them to angeli.sotomendoza@badger.k12.wi.us
if they want to participate. A special thank you to Marisol Soto, Ms. Soto Mendoza's mom, for volunteering at the middle school by helping provide many of the materials and build the ofrenda.

Communication Protocol
Whom do I contact with a question or suggestion?
Lake Geneva Schools’ communication protocols help promote direct, open, and respectful interactions so that we quickly and efficiently resolve problems and concerns. The communication protocol starts with the staff member closest to the situation, as that person usually has the most information. However, at times, additional personnel are required to resolve specific concerns.

E-payments are a convenient way to pay school fees and deposit lunch money with a credit card or check online. The Lake Geneva Schools now utilize RevTrak.
All Food Service online transactions are assessed 3.49%. A parent can make deposits to multiple students' accounts in a single order and only incur one 3.49% fee.
All non-food service transactions are also charged a 3.49% transaction fee excluding mandatory registration fee.

If your student wants to participate in Intramural Sports at LGMS, they must have an up-to-date physical on file. If you're unsure if your student is due for a new physical, you can call the Health Office at LGMS.
