VETERANS DAY 2025

Lake Geneva Middle School invites the community to attend its annual Veterans Day celebration on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. in the middle school gym.

The program will feature patriotic music performed by the school’s seventh and eighth-grade orchestras, bands, and choirs, directed by Mrs. Lauren Klement, Mrs. Amanda Krause, and Mrs. Kim May. Mrs. Deanna Deal will accompany the choirs. A highlight of the event will be the combined performance of “God Bless America.” The audience will be invited to participate in a sing-along.

Colors will be posted by the Color Guard from Post 24 of The American Legion, located in Lake Geneva. Veterans who attend the program will be invited to “pass the microphone” to introduce themselves and announce when and where they served.

“We’re looking forward to honoring and celebrating our local heroes who have so bravely served our country,” said Anne Heck, school principal.  This program has been extremely rewarding to our students and the Veterans,” she said.

Following the assembly, community members or family members of students who are veterans, spouses of veterans, or widows of veterans are invited to a luncheon at 11:00 a.m. Students from Mrs. Sarah Opie’s family and consumer science class will prepare and serve lunch.

Veterans wishing to attend the luncheon should call the school to RSVP at 262-348-3000 by Wednesday, October 29, 2025.

The middle school is located at 600 Bloomfield Road in Lake Geneva.

Attendance

Important:

Student Attendance Procedures

Students need to be to school by 7:10am and are to be in their homeroom by the time the bell rings at 7:20am.

Student Attendance and Attendance Procedures

One of the biggest ways parents/guardians can help their child succeed this school year is to make sure their child gets to school, on time, each and every day. The evidence is clear: children with good attendance are more likely to be successful in school. High attendance rates are linked to high student achievement. Every day counts, and missing school even 10% of the time has a significant negative impact on reading and math achievement as children progress through school. We want to ask for parent’s/guardian’s commitment to making sure their child attends school every day possible this year.

When a child does have to be absent from school, we ask that you communicate with us about the absence BEFORE 8:00AM. When your child will be absent, you have three communication options:

Call Mrs. Kramp in the main office at 262-348-3040 to speak with her and/or leave a message.

When to Send Your Child to School or Keep Them Home?

At Lake Geneva Schools, we know that regular attendance is key to academic success! Being in class daily helps students build strong habits, stay engaged, and gain valuable social skills. However, we also want to maintain a healthy, germ-free learning environment.

Use this guide (https://bit.ly/healthyLGS) to help decide when your child should attend school or stay home to recover. If your child has a fever over 100.4°F, vomiting, or diarrhea in the last 24 hours, it's best for them to rest at home. For minor symptoms like a runny nose, if there’s no fever, they’re ready for class!

When in doubt, contact the school health office, and let's work together to keep everyone healthy and learning!

LGMS Athletic Registration (Concussion Form)

Hello LGMS Parents/Guardians!

We are very excited for this coming school year! For our athletics, we do have forms that are required for participation. We will be having parents/guardians complete the concussion/cardiac arrest agreement (waiver) through google form (linked below). This form is needed for your child to participate in ANY athletic intramural or interscholastic sport at LGMS but only needs to be filled out once per year. This form also needs to be filled out with your child. We want athletes to know and understand the signs and symptoms of a concussion or possible cardiac arrest.

All of the information needed is linked on the google form. This google form will need to be filled out prior to the first practice of the sport your student signs up for to be able to participate.

Also required is a school physical form. Please see link to the form below. This form is to be filled out by the parent and physician.

Red Cup Challenge in 6th Grade Science

Exciting times at Lake Geneva Middle School!

Sixth graders in Mrs. Ward’s science classes took on the Red Cup Challenge — stacking six cups using only a special contraption made of string and a rubber band… without ever touching the cups with their hands! The activity focused on teamwork, cooperation, and problem-solving, and these students were up for the challenge.
