Lake Geneva Middle School invites the community to attend its annual Veterans Day celebration on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. in the middle school gym.

The program will feature patriotic music performed by the school’s seventh and eighth-grade orchestras, bands, and choirs, directed by Mrs. Lauren Klement, Mrs. Amanda Krause, and Mrs. Kim May. Mrs. Deanna Deal will accompany the choirs. A highlight of the event will be the combined performance of “America the Beautiful.” The audience will be invited to participate in a sing-along.

Colors will be posted by the Color Guard from Post 24 of The American Legion, located in Lake Geneva. Veterans who attend the program will be invited to “pass the microphone” to introduce themselves and announce when and where they served.

“We’re looking forward to honoring and celebrating our local heroes who have so bravely served our country,” said Anne Heck, school principal. This program has been extremely rewarding to our students and the Veterans,” she said.

Following the assembly, community members or family members of students who are veterans, spouses of veterans, or widows of veterans are invited to a luncheon at 11:00 a.m. Students from Mrs. Sarah Opie’s family and consumer science class will prepare and serve lunch.

Veterans wishing to attend the luncheon should call the school at

262-348-3000 to RSVP by Wednesday, October 28, 2026. The middle school is located at 600 Bloomfield Road in Lake Geneva.

Important Info: Please Read

Don't forget your student needs their ID Card to purchase lunch. If they do not have their ID Card, they will have to purchase a new one at the Guidance Office for $1. We will charge the student's account.

Please remind your student to have their ID cards at school.

Thank you!

Parents: Please be sure you pull all the way up to the orange cone in the morning. This will help expedite drop off! Thank you for your cooperation!

What's Happening at LGMS?

Hope Squad Retreat 9.21.26

On Monday, September 21, Lake Geneva Middle School Hope Squad students participated in the annual Hope Squad Retreat at Covenant Harbor. They spent the day training and participating in team-building activities.

My Number Your Impact

As part of Badger’s My Number, Your Impact event, senior football players made surprise classroom visits to recognize and thank a teacher who has who has had a positive impact on their lives. These teachers will be honored during halftime of this Friday’s home game against Burlington. Thank you, teachers, for investing in these young men and helping shape who they have become.

Becky Derrick and Amanda Krause were recognized by 2 former LGMS students!

Results Plus & Involvement Plus Awards

Congratulations to Mr. Hunter Aulds, Ms. Jennifer Kinney, and Ms. Angeli Soto Mendoza on being selected as RESULTS PLUS award recipients, and to Ms. Mary Soto on being selected as an INVOLVEMENT PLUS award recipient for their outstanding contributions to the first ever LGMS Mariachi Club.

Mrs. Lauren Klement, Elementary and LGMS Orchestra Director, shared how each of them went above and beyond to make the program a tremendous success. Mr. Aulds encouraged high school students to participate in both instrument playing and ballet de folklorico dancing, played along on several different instruments, helped struggling students, and filled in when students were absent. Ms. Kinney played auxiliary percussion instruments, helped students who were also playing percussion, and stepped in whenever needed. Ms. Angeli Soto Mendoza and her mom, Ms. Mary Soto, taught students ballet de folklorico dancing and sang along while the instrumentalists played. Ms. Angeli Soto Mendoza invited a professional musician from the community to join, providing students with an invaluable learning experience, while Ms. Mary Soto coordinated with community members to borrow skirts for the performances. Her encouragement inspired the students, and it was clear they were so proud of themselves.

Together, these four individuals demonstrated exemplary achievement, significant effort, and accomplishment above and beyond that which is normally expected, helping to create a meaningful and memorable experience for all involved.

Reflecting on 9.11

On September 11, 2026 Mr. Konieczski and Ms. Soto Mendoza showed their patriotic spirit of remembrance of the 25th anniversary of the 2001 attacks in New York City. Today LGMS students learned about, reflected on, and discussed the events of September 11, 2001. Students and staff honored the lives lost and the courage of first responders, and considered the importance of service, unity, and community in our country.

Sports/Intramurals & After School Club Information

When a club or sport is being offered, the information will always be placed on an information table for students to take. It will also be on our announcement slide(s). Please make sure to remind your child to read and listen to the announcements. We do not send paper copies home to each student. Students are responsible to get the information on their own.

Also be aware that it is required to have a sports physical when participating in an LGMS sport.

Scroll down to the "News From the Nurse" section to find the sports physical form under Health Forms.

School Year Bell Schedules

Extended Homeroom is every Wednesday and other dates throughout the year.

**ATTENDANCE INFORMATION**

Students need to be to school by 7:10am and are to be in their homeroom by the time the bell rings at 7:20am.

Important: LGMS Student Attendance Procedures

One of the biggest ways parents/guardians can help their child succeed this school year is to make sure their child gets to school, on time, each and every day. The evidence is clear: children with good attendance are more likely to be successful in school. High attendance rates are linked to high student achievement. Every day counts, and missing school even 10% of the time has a significant negative impact on reading and math achievement as children progress through school. We want to ask for parent’s/guardian’s commitment to making sure their child attends school every day possible this year.

When a child does have to be absent from school, we ask that you communicate with us about the absence BEFORE 8:00AM. When your child will be absent, you have three communication options:

Call Mrs. Bays in the main office at 262-348-3040 to speak with her and/or leave a message.

REPORT ABSENCES ON POWERSCHOOL, BY PHONE CALL OR NOW YOU CAN EMAIL THE LGMS OFFICE AT lgmsoffice@badger.k12.wi.us

Need to reach the office? Leaving early for an appt?

Reporting an absence?

We have 3 easy ways to reach the LGMS main office:

  1. Call the main line at 262-348-3000
  2. Call the attendance line at 262-348-3040
  3. Email the main office at lgmsoffice@badger.k12.wi.us

  • If you are calling your student in for an absence, please call or email by 8:00am.

  • If you are picking up your student for an appt, please send a note in the morning. Your student needs to bring it to the office before Homeroom.

PLANNED ABSENCES

If your student is going to be out of school for 3 or more days you can request a planned absence sheet to collect what work they miss when they are out of school. Students can always check their google classroom

for missing assignments.

News From the Nurse

When to Send Your Child to School or Keep Them Home?

At Lake Geneva Schools, we know that regular attendance is key to academic success! Being in class daily helps students build strong habits, stay engaged, and gain valuable social skills. However, we also want to maintain a healthy, germ-free learning environment.

Use this guide (https://bit.ly/healthyLGS) to help decide when your child should attend school or stay home to recover. If your child has a fever over 100.4°F, vomiting, or diarrhea in the last 24 hours, it's best for them to rest at home. For minor symptoms like a runny nose, if there’s no fever, they’re ready for class!

When in doubt, contact the school health office, and let's work together to keep everyone healthy and learning!
