HOW TO REACH THE LGMS OFFICE & PLANNED ABSENCES

Need to reach the office? Leaving early for an appt? Reporting an absence?

We have 3 easy ways to reach the LGMS main office:

  1. Call the main line at 262-348-3000
  2. Call the attendance line at 262-348-3040
  3. Email the main office at lgmsoffice@badger.k12.wi.us

  • If you are calling your student in for an absence, please call or email by 9:00am.

  • If you are picking up your student for an appt, please send a note in the morning. Your student needs to bring it to the office before FLEX.

PLANNED ABSENCES

If your student is going to be out of school for 3 or more days you can request a planned absence sheet to collect what work they miss when they are out of school.

Students can always check their google classroom for missing assignments.

Thank you!

NJHS SHOE DRIVE

The National Junior Honor Society at LGMS is excited about our latest fundraiser because you don't have to buy anything! We are collecting gently worn, used and new shoes to raise money for the Forbeck Foundation, a cancer research organization.

Not only do you help us, but the shoes also get a second life with those in need!

Donation boxes are set up in each house area at Lake Geneva Middle School as well as the district office! The fundraiser will run Monday, September 25th through Friday, October 6!

Thank you for your support!

FREE BREAKFAST THIS YEAR!

At LGMS students have the option of eating breakfast when they arrive to school in the morning.

PTO NEWS

Halloween Dance

In the past, the PTO has struggled to get enough parents to chaperone the dance, and to set up/decorate before the dance. We need chaperones to ensure a fun and safe environment for the kids. If we do not receive enough volunteers, we will need to shut down the open gym portion of the dance. If you cannot make the entire dance, please let us know and we can work around that!

Thank you for volunteering to bring in a donation (snacks, water bottles, plates, or decorations), or volunteering your time to help us make the dance successful. Donations can be dropped off all week or brought directly to the dance when you drop your child off.

If you have any questions when signing up, call/text Heather at 989-714-1852 or email us at pto4lgms@gmail.com.

Please make sure you have an up-to-date background check on file with the school if you will be volunteering at the dance. They are available in the main office at LGMS.

Thank you, Heather, Molly, Meghan, and Jessica

ATHLETIC & INTRAMURAL INFORMATION
LGMS ATHLETIC REGISTRATION FORM

For our athletics, we do have forms that are required for participation. We will be having parents/guardians complete the concussion/cardiac arrest agreement (waiver) through google form (linked below). This form is needed for your child to participate in any athletic intramural or interscholastic sport at LGMS but only needs to be filled out once per year. This form also needs to be filled out with your child. We want athletes to know and understand the signs and symptoms of a concussion or possible cardiac arrest. All of the information needed is linked on the google form and this form should take less than 10 minutes to complete.

If you filled this out already, you do not have to do it again.

We will have paper copies available in the main office if parents/guardians would prefer to come into LGMS to complete. Cross Country and Girl's Basketball start the second day of school (September 6). This google form will need to be filled out prior to the first practice to be able to participate.

**ATTENDANCE INFORMATION**
Important: Student Attendance and
New Attendance Procedures
School attendance is very important, and we encourage families to make sure their children are in school as much as possible. However, children who are sick need to stay home for their well-being and to prevent others from becoming sick. Click the link to review the Lake Geneva Schools Protocols for When to Keep Your Child Home From School: https://bit.ly/3Bl6Gl9

***Students need to be to school by 7:15am and are to be in their FLEX hour by the time the bell rings at 7:25am.

Student Attendance and Attendance Procedures
One of the biggest ways parents/guardians can help their child succeed this school year is to make sure their child gets to school, on time, each and every day. The evidence is clear: children with good attendance are more likely to be successful in school. High attendance rates are linked to high student achievement. Every day counts, and missing school even 10% of the time has a significant negative impact on reading and math achievement as children progress through school. We want to ask for parent’s/guardian’s commitment to making sure their child attends school every day possible this year.

When a child does have to be absent from school, we ask that you communicate with us about the absence BEFORE 9:00AM. When your child will be absent, you have three communication options:

Call Mrs. Kramp in the main office at 262-348-3040 to speak with her and/or leave a message.

REPORT ABSENCES ON POWERSCHOOL OR A PHONE CALL OR NOW YOU CAN EMAIL THE LMGS OFFICE AT lgmsoffice@badger.k12.wi.us

BE SURE TO LET THE OFFICE KNOW BY 9:00AM.

THANK YOU!
