VETERANS DAY INFO-Save the Date!

Community Veterans Day Celebration Planned For November 11 at Lake Geneva Middle School

Lake Geneva Middle School invites the community to attend its annual Veterans Day celebration on Monday, November 11, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. in the middle school gym.

The program will feature patriotic music performed by the school’s seventh and eighth-grade orchestras, bands, and choirs, directed by Mrs. Lauren Klement, Mrs. Amanda Krause, and Mrs. Kim May. Mrs. Deanna Deal will accompany the choirs. A highlight of the event will be the combined performance of “You're A Grand Old Flag.” The audience will be invited to participate in a sing-along.

Colors will be posted by the Color Guard from Post 24 of The American Legion, located in Lake Geneva. Veterans who attend the program will be invited to “pass the microphone” to introduce themselves and announce when and where they served.

“We’re looking forward to honoring and celebrating our local heroes who have so bravely served our country,” said Anne Heck, school principal.  This program has been extremely rewarding to our students and the Veterans,” she said.

Following the assembly, community members or family members of students who are veterans, spouses of veterans, or widows of veterans are invited to attend a luncheon at 11:00 a.m. Lunch will be prepared and served by students from Mrs. Sarah Opie’s family and consumer science class.

Veterans wishing to attend the luncheon should call the school to RSVP at 262-348-3000 by Thursday, October 31, 2024.  The middle school is located at 600 Bloomfield Road in Lake Geneva.

WHAT'S HAPPENING AT LGMS?

8th GRADE BOOK TASTING

Eighth grade ELA students began the school year with a Book Tasting, ensuring everyone had a book to read from the start!

SHARED MUSIC STUDENTS @ LGMS

A special congratulations goes out to these students for being selected to be a Shared Music Student this school year. That means these students participate in not one but TWO music ensembles (band, choir, and orchestra) at LGMS. Not very many schools allow this and we are proud to offer this opportunity. We commend them for meeting the requirements of being Shared Music Students and expect great things going forward this year!

How Does this Work?

Have you ever wondered what makes a bath bomb fizz? What gas is released, and where does it come from? Mrs. Pettijohn and Mr. Dummer’s classes are learning about the science of bath bombs in their OpenSciEd 7th grade science unit. OpenSciEd is a curriculum aligned to meet modern science standards and engage students in practices that drive their own thinking and learning.

.....And so much more! Like us on Facebook to follow Official Lake Geneva Middle School for more information, or go to LGMS Website.

The communication protocol starts with the staff member closest to the situation, as that person usually has the most information. However, at times, additional personnel are required to resolve specific concerns.
