Dear Parents and Guardians:

Wisconsin students in Grades 3-8 and 10 will be participating in the Wisconsin Forward assessment during the March 5 - May 20 testing window.  We will be testing on the following days:

6th grade:  March 20-22, 2017

7th grade:  April 10-12, 2017

8th grade: April 4-7, 2017

The Wisconsin Forward assessment tests all students in the areas of reading and mathematics in grades 3-8.  One or more subtests may be administered daily during the identified time frame and it is very important that your son or daughter be in school during this time. Students not in school on the scheduled testing days will be scheduled for a make-up test prior to the close of the testing window.

Students in grades 4 and 8 will also be tested in science and social studies. Grade 10 will be participating in a social studies assessment. These tests are required by federal law.

Below is the link for an Informational Brochure for Families which gives more information about the assessment including its purpose, what scores will be provided, and how the scores will be used.

The Wisconsin Forward assessment measures the knowledge and skills your student(s) should have acquired by the time they reach each grade level. Their performance on the assessment will not affect any of their current grades. Please encourage your son or daughter to take the test seriously and do the best they can. The results of these tests will be used to help school staff make determinations or placement in classes to best support your child(ren).

If you have any questions, please contact Anne Heck or Grant Strobel, LGMS Principals.

Friday morning we celebrated 62 outstanding students at our Above & Beyond Ceremony.  This prestigious award is designed to showcase our outstanding students that go above and beyond our everyday expectations. Students that overcome challenges, display grit, consistently stay positive and support others are some examples of the caliber of our nominees.  Congratulations to the amazing students we have here at Lake Geneva Middle School.
