Dear LHBC family and friends,

As we gather for worship this coming Lord's Day, we'll focus our teaching time on the following passage from the book of Colossians. Take some time over the course of the weekend to mediate on these verses and consider the implications and applications that should mark our lives as we understand all the truths contained in this passage. Looking forward to worshiping with you on Sunday!

Colossians 3:1–4 (ESV)

If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. 3 For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

In Christ, Pastor Dave

Upcoming Events and Opportunities

Wednesday Night Nursery Ministry

As new opportunities are being offered on Wednesday nights, our need for additional nursery workers is also expanding. If you would be willing and able to serve in this way, please sign up in the vestibule on Sunday. We need 2 workers each Wednesday night from 6:15 pm- 7:45 pm.

Ladies Coffee Fellowship

All ladies are warmly invited to join the Women of Faith Sunday School Class for a special time of Coffee and Conversation on Friday, October 23, at 9:00 a.m. We will gather at 37 Motor City South, formerly Zek’s 37, across from the courthouse, for a relaxed morning of fellowship, encouragement, and friendly conversation. This gathering is planned for the fourth Friday of each month, and we would love for you to make it part of your monthly routine. Come enjoy a cup of coffee, connect with friends, and be encouraged in faith and fellowship.

2026 Hallelujah Harvest

Hallelujah Harvest will be on Wednesday, October 28 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Please sign up in the vestibule if you would like to be in the chili contest, bake a cake for the cakewalk or pass out candy during the trunk or treat. This will take the place of our regular Wednesday evening services. We are asking for donations of individually wrapped sweets to be given out with the hotdog plates as a dessert?

Youth BBQ Lunch

Sunday, November 1, our Youth will be hosting a BBQ Lunch starting at 12:15pm. The cost of tickets is $15 each. See one of the youth or youth leaders to purchase tickets. Plates can be picked up, or you can dine in.

Women's Blessing Bags & Buffet

All ladies are warmly invited to join the Women's Ministry Team in the Family Life Center on Saturday, November 7 at 4:00 p.m. to pack blessing bags for our nursing home residents. Please bring items for the bags and covered dish for the buffet so we can share a meal together and enjoy a time of fellowship.

A list of possible items are game books, word searches, coloring books, pens or crayons, deck of cards, puzzles, individually wrapped candy, suckers, crackers, chips, cookies, lotions, body wash, deodorant, socks with non-slip bottoms, Kleenex, combs, brushes, store bought or homemade cards with encouraging note inside.

Christmas Shoeboxes

National Week of Collections is November 16-23, 2026. A table is set up in the hallway beside the Nursery to receive your shoebox gifts. Empty shoeboxes are also available to anyone needing a box. The church will pay the shipping cost from our Missions Fund. Sunday, November 22 is the last day to bring your shoebox for this year’s Christmas Shoebox collection. If you would like to donate money to help buy stuff to fill a shoebox, please see Brittany NesSmith for more information. Please don’t overstuff the boxes. They will need to close properly for shipping.
