PA Chamber Hosts 2025 Chamber Day at the Capitol
HARRISBURG - The Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry, in partnership with the Pennsylvania Association of Chamber Professionals (PACP), hosted local chamber leaders from across the Commonwealth in Harrisburg on Tuesday for the 2025 Chamber Day at the Capitol - an annual event focused on pro-business advocacy and legislative engagement.
The day's agenda featured a series of high-level discussions at the Capitol and PA Chamber offices. The day opened with welcome remarks from PA Chamber President and CEO Luke Berstein, House Speaker Joanna McClinton (D-Philadelphia), and Senate President Pro Tempore Kim Ward (R-Westmoreland).
Attendees also heard directly from Senate Appropriations Committee Chair Scott Martin (R-Lancaster) and House Appropriations Committee Chair Jordan Harris (D-Philadelphia) on the current state budget process. Congratulations Leadership Huntingdon County
Class of 2025!
Last evening, we proudly celebrated the graduation of the Leadership Huntingdon County Class of 2025!
Leadership Huntingdon County is a dynamic, nine month long program that equips participants with the knowledge, skills, and connections needed to lead with purpose in our community. Through a diverse blend of educational experiences—including lectures, debates, skill-building sessions, site visits, and real-world problem-solving—participants explore critical topics such as Economic Development, Health Care, Local Government, Human Services, Education, Criminal Justice, Diversity, Grant Writing and more.
Each class also takes on a capstone project focused on identifying and addressing a pressing need in our community. This year, the Class of 2025 launched "Fuel the Future", a heartfelt initiative aimed at combating youth food insecurity in Huntingdon County. By collecting food and raising funds, the class made a direct impact by supporting local backpack programs that provide nutritious food to children who might otherwise go without on evenings, weekends, and during school breaks.
We are incredibly proud of this outstanding group of emerging leaders. Over the past year, they’ve grown both individually and as a team—demonstrating dedication, compassion, and a shared commitment to making Huntingdon County a better place for all.
Congratulations to the Leadership Huntingdon County Class of 2025:
- Codi Brown
- Maria Chagolla
- Kelly G. Dixon
- Greta Gibboney Hall
- Sandy Garner Kramer
- Erin Hensler
- Nathan Querry
- Katherine M. Ross
Your passion and leadership are already making a difference—and we can’t wait to see what you accomplish next!

On June 1st, we were proud to help coordinate a Ribbon Cutting for the beautifully renovated Town Clock at the Huntingdon Presbyterian Church!
This special restoration project began back in 2016, after the 1958 electrical modifications failed and the clock came to a halt. Now, after years of dedication and community support, the clock is once again ticking - serving as a timeless symbol of heritage, connection, and pride for Huntingdon.
While we were unfortunately unable to attend due to professional development commitments, we are thrilled to see our community come together to celebrate this historic moment. The restore clock not only honors those who came before us but also offers visitors and residents a glimpse into our rich past that continues to stand the test of time.
Stop by the Huntingdon Presbyterian Church to see this incredible piece of history for yourself!

On June 3rd, we had the honor of hosting a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to celebrate the installation of the Miniature Courthouse Replica at the corner of 5th and Penn Streets in Downtown Huntingdon!
This stunning piece beautifully captures the essence of our historic courthouse and adds a unique charm to our downtown area. We encourage everyone to stop by, snap a photo, and admire this incredible tribute to our community's heritage!

Key Components of a Competitive Benefits Package
To create a competitive benefits package, which will increase a company’s ability to recruit and retain workers, it is important to consider the interests and needs of their target population. Today, with more younger individuals comprising the workforce, business owners need to consider whether their benefit portfolio requires adjustments to meet evolving needs.
Flexibility is at the core of what most employees seek in a benefits package today. The ability to work from anywhere, adjust schedules to fit their lifestyle, and take time off when needed has become a top priority.
Mental health and wellness support have also become important. More than ever, employees are asking their employers to provide resources for emotional well-being. Offering access to therapy and counseling services has been shown to directly impact job satisfaction, with many employees stating that mental health benefits influence their job decisions. Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) that provide confidential support for stress and anxiety, along with mindfulness and meditation app subscriptions are among the most requested perks in modern workplaces.
Financial stability is another critical concern. With the burden of student loans, high rent, and economic uncertainty weighing on them, many employees look for financial wellness benefits beyond a simple paycheck. Companies that offer student loan repayment assistance help ease financial stress, while those that provide 401(k) matching and financial planning tools encourage long-term savings. A growing number of organizations are also adopting on-demand pay access, allowing employees to withdraw earned wages before payday, reducing financial strain and enhancing job satisfaction.
Beyond traditional healthcare and retirement plans, many workers today appreciate lifestyle benefits that enhance their quality of life. Wellness stipends that cover gym memberships, fitness classes, or home workout equipment are increasingly popular. Many companies have also introduced pet insurance and “paw-ternity” leave, recognizing the importance of pets in their employees’ lives. Commuter and travel benefits, whether in the form of subsidized public transport or remote work stipends, also play a role in boosting employee satisfaction.
The Huntingdon County Chamber of Commerce offers its members access to My Benefit Advisor as a solution for employee benefits, including voluntary offerings. For more information about My Benefit Advisor, visit our website at hccc.mybenefitadvisor.com or contact Craig Pritts at (800) 377-3536.

Did you know........
Small businesses represent the largest segment by number of most local chamber membership rolls. Results in the research study by The Shapiro Group, Inc. and Market Street indicate the impact of local chamber membership on small businesses is very powerful. If a consumer knows a small business is a member of its local chamber, the business enjoys a 44 percent increase in its consumer favorability rating, a 51 percent increase in consumer awareness, a 57 percent increase in its local reputation and a 63 percent increase in the likelihood that consumers will patronize the business in the future.
Research indicates that chamber membership stimulates business-to-business commerce in the local community. Other businesses in town are more likely to do business with you and your company if you are a member of the local chamber. Because a major part of a small business typically comes from business-to-business services, it is essential to maintain a positive standing within the local business community.
