Congratulations to the Class of 2026! | | |
Last week, nearly 800 students crossed the stage at the Tsongas Center as members of Lowell High School's Class of 2026.
Together, they submitted more than 3,000 college and trade school applications, with 70% heading to college, 10% entering the trades, 15% joining the workforce, and 2% serving in the military.

Helping mark the milestone was Lowell High School alumi Samuel Okuayinonu, Class of 2016, who delivered this year's commencement address. Now a defensive end for the San Francisco 49ers, Okuayinonu shared his journey from Liberia to Lowell and the perseverance that shaped his success.
His message to graduates was simple: “Keep working when nobody’s cheering.” He reminded them that perseverance often matters more than talent and encouraged them to continue pursuing
their goals, even when the path ahead is uncertain.

As we highlight the achievements of the class of 2026, we're inviting alumni from to join in the celebration with a gift of $26.
Now through June 30, 2026, we're challenging alumni to show their class pride and support the next generation of Lowell students. Every $26 gift helps create meaningful opportunities for young people across our community.
The Challenge: The graduating class with the highest number of donors by June 30 will earn a special shout-out and bragging rights in our next Alumni E-Newsletter.
Whether you graduated five years ago or fifty, your participation makes a difference. Make your gift, rally your classmates, and help your class rise to the top!
| | Spotlight on Senior Activities | | The Grad Walk began as a way to encourage better attendance by exposing younger students to what a high school graduate looks like, just like them, but taller! It has since turned into a celebration for students, the grads, and former teachers giving everyone the chance to celebrate the grads. | | On one of their last days at Lowell High, Seniors came together to reflect on their the friendships they’ve built as they signed each others yearbooks, shared memories, and marked the milestone of approaching graduation. This was a joyful moment of celebration and reflection as students look ahead to their next chapter. | | Lowell High celebrated the achievements of its student-athletes at the annual Athletic Awards ceremony. The event recognized seniors for their dedication, leadership, sportsmanship, and accomplishments both on and off the field. Congratulations to all of the award recipients and graduating athletes for their hard work, perseverance, and contributions to the community. | | On May 19, the Greater Lowell Community Foundation awarded 431 scholarships to 247 Lowell High School seniors totaling more than $700,000. 62% of awardees are the first in their family to attend college, 49 % exhibited financial need, 77% worked a job, and 76% participated in community service. The group boasted an impressive average grade point average (GPA) of 4.1. | | 10 seniors graduated from the After Dark Program, a partnership between LHS and GLTHS that provides students with access to career and technical education opportunities. For the past two years, these students balanced a full day at Lowell High with an additional 3.5 hours of daily training at GLTHS, completing more than 900 hours of hands-on instruction. | | 15 Career Academy seniors were celebrated, as they prepare for high school graduation. The Career Academy is a high school program aimed at re-engaging students who have gotten off-track in their education journey. ABOUT US
From mentors, advisors, guest speakers, tutors and more, Lowell High Alumni are valuable resources for current students. The Lowell High Alumni Association is a collaboration between Project LEARN and the Lowell Public School district. The mission of the Alumni Association is to help alumni connect with each other, to engage with the school, community and to inspire future generations of Lowell High students through mentoring, advising and tutoring. We invite alumni to connect and find ways to work on new and existing programs within the schools to better the academics and the lives of all Lowell Public School students.
