Ebooks, audiobooks & more available via Libby in 2022!
Exciting news! We are switching from cloudLibrary to Libby, starting on January 3, 2022.
Libby is a free app where you can borrow ebooks, magazines and digital audiobooks from your public library. You can stream books with Wi-Fi or mobile data, or download them for offline use and read anytime, anywhere. Indie Flix, Qello, and Craftsy have recently been added as well.
Why is this change happening?
- The app is reliable and user-friendly.
- The collection will double in size.
- 3000 plus magazines for instant borrowing including The Economist, The New Yorker, US Weekly, Good Housekeeping and more!
- Kindle users will be able to borrow library books!
Dates to keep in mind:
January 2: All items checked out to you on or before 1/2, all items you are waiting for and all items saved in your "saved list" via cloudLibrary will not transfer to Libby. Make a note of these titles so you can re-enter them into Libby on 1/3.
January 3: You will no longer be able to log into cloudLibrary. The app will remain on your device until you delete it.
January 3: Libby will be available for you to download and start using. All content (and the content that belongs to other MAIN Libraries) starts transferring to Libby. This process will take a few days. Magazines and a few select titles will be available immediately. The entire eBook/audiobook collection will move to the new app over the course of January.
Every Friday in January and February 2022, we will host Libby instructional sessions. Sessions will start @ 1pm, 2pm, 3pm and 4pm. We will also put helpful tips up on the website and social media. Stay tuned!
