Through a new monthly webinar, Travel Abroad Virtually with LIBOR, the Association hosts webinars featuring international industry professionals. During the January 21 webinar, LIBOR signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the National Association of REALTORS®-India (NAR–India) to establish the cooperation of the two REALTOR® associations in developing a mutually beneficial relationship for their respective members. Nassau County: CE Extends Property Assessment Grievance Period
Nassau County Executive Laura Curran announced today that the Assessment Review Commission (ARC) will extend the property assessment grievance deadline from March 1, 2021 to Friday, April 30, 2021 by providing an additional 60-day grace period. For more information click here.

Governor Cuomo's FY 2022 Executive Budget

Revenue Estimates for Pied-A-Terre Tax Proposal Drop
The Independent Budget Office recently dropped its revenue estimate for a proposed new annual property tax on second homes in New York City valued at over $5 million. The non-government agency said it realized far fewer homes than originally thought would qualify for the new tax if imposed. Estimates show that the city would see a net loss of $198 million a year if the tax is imposed due to lost revenue from sales and development. You can learn more and take action, click here.
