COVID-19 Updates
*NEW* LISC Neighborhood Business Grants (Funded by Lowe’s) – This Neighborhood Business Grants will help businesses facing immediate financial pressure due to COVID-19 to pay for expenses, such as rent, utilities, payroll, outstanding debt, and other operational cost. The award will range from $5,000 - $20,000. All small businesses in NYC are eligible. Application deadline is Sunday, August 23rd, at 11:59 PM ET. Please see the program’s page for more information. 

Reopening Checklist - Our COVID-19: Reopening Checklist is a tool for businesses to use as NYC continues reopening. This list is helpful for businesses open in Phase 1, 2 and 3 as well as businesses prepping for their reopening in a future phase. There are important forms to fill out prior to reopening and this checklist will help cover your bases. Click here to download the checklist.

Astoria Ferry Route Expanded to the Upper East Side!
Yesterday, NYC Ferry announced a new connection between our Astoria and East 90th Street landings. Starting Saturday, August 22, the Astoria route will be extended to serve East 90th Street and a new schedule will go into effect to accommodate this change.

In Memoriam - Claire Shulman
Below are a few more of her obituaries we would like to share on former Queens Borough President Claire Shulman who passed away on Sunday, August 16th. Serving as Borough President from 1986-2002, she was a towering figure in the history of Queens and of
Long Island City, and beloved by so many.

Have You Taken the 2020 Census Yet?
Completing the Census is one thing every New Yorker can do to make sure New York has the resources it needs and the representation we deserve for the next 10 years.

The last day of the self-response period for the 2020 Census was extended due to COVID-19, on August 11, NYC’s uncounted households will begin to receive a knock on the door by Census Bureau enumerators.
