Queens Post

Queens Plaza E/M/R Elevator Replacements

The elevators at the Queens Plaza E/M/R station will soon be taken out of service for capital replacement by the MTA on or around Dec. 16. The following elevators will be impacted:

• One street-to-mezzanine elevator located at the corner of Jackson Avenue and Queens Plaza South.
• Two mezzanine-to-platform elevators serving the Queens-bound and Manhattan-bound platforms for the E, M, and R lines.

This work is critical to modernizing the transit system by replacing assets that have exceeded their useful life and can be prone to emergency outages. Construction is anticipated to last through Q3 2025. Signage will be posted throughout the station alerting customers of elevator outages for planned work and detailing alternative accessible travel paths. Details
