Celebrate Black History Month All Month Long in LIC
Several organizations in our area are holding virtual events throughout February in honor of Black History Month including the Queens Public Library and NYC Parks Department .

Queensbridge Baby Park Reconstruction
NYC Parks is looking for your input! Through February 12th, submit your ideas and input for the tentative project to redesign Queensbridge Baby Park. Help them design and build great parks that suit the communities needs.

Astoria Houses Community Scholarship Virtual Celebration
This Saturday at 10am join the Astoria Houses Residents Association in collaboration with LICP Member NYC Kids RISE.

The celebration will feature an announcement of the results of the Astoria Houses Community Scholarship Campaign, a college & career community panel discussion for parents and guardians, and a community read-along of Superheroes are Everywhere written by Vice President Kamala Harris.

NYC DOT Design Workshops, Tonight and Tomorrow!
NYC Department of Transportation (DOT) would like to invite you to join them for a conversation about improving street safety and expanding the public space in your neighborhood.

There are two upcoming virtual design workshops to share design concepts and project ideas for the Court Square in Long Island City, Queens. Pre-registration is encouraged

Shuttered Venue Operators (SVO) Grant Information - This morning we hosted a great webinar with Man-Li Lin from the U.S. Small Business Administration on the new SVO Grant. If you missed it, visit our COVID-19 Grants and Loans Resource page for helpful information and stay tuned for future updates as they become available.

Weekly Webinars in Partnership with SBS - In partnership with NYC Department of Small Business Services (SBS), we have scheduled weekly webinars. These webinars will provide guidance for businesses interested in applying for loans and grants. Specifically, we offer guidance on items to consider before taking on additional debt, documentation that is commonly required to apply for funding, and an overview of additional loans and grants that are available to NYC businesses. These webinars will be run weekly, click here for a full list of upcoming programming from NYC SBS.

Green Mountain Graphics (GMG) in Sunnyside is a local business that manufactures and distributes all types of signs and is a local source for “everything imprinted”. In 1969 Morris Greenberg bought an engraving machine and started manufacturing signs for his customers. Twenty five years later, Eric Greenberg, the 2nd generation owner, took the helm and now is entering his 27th year as owner.⠀
